Indonesian Fashion Spot!

missha is one of the stores that was on my must visit list when i went to new york last june. the store had only been opened for a month at that time. i was actually planning to do some serious shopping there, hehe..well where else you can find over 500 products ranging from skin care, make up, body care, fragrance and hair care for under $4.99??. yes only at missha, of course. it’s a company from korea who has been in business for only 5 years but already have stores all over asia, australia, mexico and break in to the american market for such a short period of time. so they must be good, right?

but alas, somehow i totally forgot about that store when i was there..but the strange thing is i’m sure i must have passed that store in broadway soho without realizing it because i have a sample of its clear cleansing cream in my purse. silly me!

anyway, so i tried the clear cleansing cream without any expectation (although i heard a lot of good things about their products, especially coming from those who are asian). it only takes such a small dose for the cream to foam well and to clean the make up..the lather feels very smooth too, leaving my skin feeling soft. i love it i love it. their online store is opening soon so i’ll be ordering other stuff from them. hopefully the rest of the stuff are good too cause i know they are good for my wallet…;)

di US, lagi trend yang namanya perusahaan peminjaman tas, dimana kita bisa meminjam tas tas ber merk untuk sekali atau bahkan berkali kali pakai dengan bayar uang sewa yang tentu nya jauh lebih kecil dari harga tas tersebut. contohnya bag borrow or steal, from bags to riches, rent fame

dan ternyata, trend nya nggak hanya berhenti di amerika, di jakarta juga sudah ada yang namanya smart diva. hampir semua model tas ada di sana dari berbagai merk seperti gucci, lv, ysl, dior, coach, coccinelle dan lain lainnya. semuanya dapat di sewa dengan kisaran harga antara 120 ribu sampai 2.5 juta sekali pakai.

memang sih ya, untuk sebagian orang menjinjing tas keluaran terbaru itu sudah kebutuhan sifatnya, mungkin tuntunan pergaulan atau pekerjaan. sayangnya penghasilan tidak mengijinkan mereka untuk membeli tas ber merk setiap minggu nya. mau beli yang palsu tapi takut dan malu kalo ketauan. i guess that’s when this kind of service fill the gap. you can still carry the latest IT bag without dropping one or two month full of income.

i don’t think i will ever be a member…but i’m sure the market is there for this kind of service. what do you think?

dewi magazine named him as one of the top future designers. i saw a few of his collection at simplight.net and my oh my, are they pretty or what? they are very feminine with nice details, sexy but not slutty…and oh..i love the choice of colors. me likey!!

btw, i wish there is a website that showcase the collection of indonesian designers. it’d be cool to have our own style.com, don’t you think? so those who live overseas can still keep up with the local designers works. I googled some of the names like ronald v. gaghana, urban crew, kanaya tabitha, arantxa adi, oscar couture, biyan, ghea, denny wirawan and none of them have one. the only one i found is carmanita.com. that’s pretty sad. i mean, one of the elements that you need to have in order to go international is to have a nice website to show your designs for the whole world to see, no??

i found an indonesian online clothing store this afternoon, wow i thought such thing is hard to implement back home. but simplight.net proves that it can be done. it offers international shipping too as well as wholesale and you can order online, by phone, fax, or even sms and they do delivery around jakarta too. wow, that’s cool. its website also has tons of info about fashion related stuff from trends, tips, forecast and many other things. too bad i found the website loads a bit slow, but i’m going to browse some more after this. why don’t you have a look there too and support the indonesian business..happy shopping..=)

marc jacobs is one of my favorite designers, well i don’t always like the outfits he put together on the runway, but i love almost each and every pieces of everything that he designed and i especially love his handbags collections with the exception of the following that he designed for fall 2006. this one is for his marc by marc jacobs line. ugh…why a logoed bags, mj?? i don’t know if it’s just me or what, but i think lv, gucci and goyard are the only acceptable monogrammed bags out there, by acceptable i mean nice and classic. the rest is just plain tacky and look like they try too hard (eg. dior, fendi, guess, bebe, michael kors, xoxo, tommy hilfiger, etc).

the owls have started to make an appearance since early this year, but lately i’ve seen more and more owls everywhere and in different forms; earrings, pendants, t-shirt, bags, key chain, etc. i guess that’s a good thing because i’d rather look at these cute owls than the scary skulls.
