Battle of the Week: Le Pliage Against Pop Tote for Travel
Ever since I got my hands on the Longchamp Le Pliage, I got addicted of how light the bag really is. Not only it’s my favourite bag for everyday use, but it’s also the bag of choice for travelling. I’ve once wrote the must-have items for travelling, and the foldable Longchamp Le Pliage is among them. Why? Because it doesn’t add weight to the total weight of the items that I carry with me on my shoulder. On top of that, you can fold it and make it your shopping bag. How convenient, right?
But now the Longchamp Le Pliage has a contender: the Furla Pop Tote. Equally made from water-repellent nylon, but it has a nice calf leather finishing detail. Though the Longchamp Le Pliage also has a leather flap and handle, which makes it very durable to wear and able to hold the weight that you add to the bag, both are equally charming and also durable.
But the thing with Furla Pop Tote is that it looks more like a serious bag compared to Longchamp Le Pliage, if that makes any sense at all. Longchamp Le Pliage can come across as a casual bag for some occasion and while travelling. It’s good to have a bag that is more versatile that you can dress up for dinner or dress down for shopping or a walk in the park. It also comes with the whole nine yards of internal zip, mobile phone and external zip pockets which come in handy whilst travelling to separate your receipts and coins, as well as placing your mobile phone. It also comes in two types of handles! Love the options.
The downside of the Furla Pop Tote is, of course, it’s considerably heavier, though it’s still very lightweight compared to most bags, but Longchamp Le Pliage is too light to beat.
As for the price? Of course the Furla Pop Tote is also more expensive than the Longchamp Le Pliage.
As usual, I let you be the judge, but I’m eyeing on the Furla Pop Tote in black.
