What comes to mind when you heard about Dubai Fashion Week (DFW)? Dubai Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012 was held from October 20-24 2011 at The Arena Dubai World Trade Centre. The event showcases designers from around the region and the schedule overall had a diverse range of Arab, South East Asian, European and western shows lined up. Mirela Stelea, Cartas, Sakina Mohsin, Shrekahnth, Mehwish Afzal, Roopa Pemmaraju were some of the designers who presented their collection at DFW 2012. The opening of DFW 2012 was marked with dollops of drama and the collections ranged from loose, flowing fabrics to glittering jumpsuits. Not to forget, Abaya will always be there in middle-eastern fashion. They’re modest, they’re casual and they’re elegant, in their own unique way.
