Apparently Kate Winslet is very opinionated on the above mentioned subject. Along with her good friends, Emma Thompson and Rachel Weisz, they will be forming what she called ‘British Anti-Cosmetic Surgery League‘ because she said that such practices “go against my morals”. While we share the same sentiment with Emma Thompson when she expressed her distaste for the constant quest for youth by many older women, as stated at the Guardian, because some celebrities have gone under the knife for too many times, but we wonder whether we need to go to the extreme measure to completely say no to cosmetic surgery?
Evidently, plastic surgery addiction is not only for the mature women. The pressure to look perfect posed by many Hollywood celebrities have made many young people cop out and decide to undergo the procedure, again and again, in search of perfection.
Take Heidi Montag for example, when she started at The Hills I found nothing wrong with her. Sure she’s not perfect, but who needs perfection anyway? She looks gorgeous, in her own way. But apparently she has undergone no less than ten procedures! The image put at the Hufftington Post of her before and after image put this whole issue in an alarming state of how some people could go that far looking for perfection. Can you see how differently she looks after the procedures?

You know who else I’ve just recently found out have undergone major image change because of plastic surgery? None other than the gorgeous Megan Fox. If you Google her before and after plastic surgery image, you’ll know what I mean.
I myself wouldn’t go as far as saying that I would completely say no to cosmetic surgery. Just recently, my mom just did an eye lift surgery to take out the nasty eye bags that she got from her age. I see that image-wise nothing much changed, she just looks less tired on the eye area. I would say, if ever I’ll be at the stage where I’ve gotten those nasty eye bags, I really wouldn’t mind an eye lift procedure. I think I’m okay for a little procedure but not a major one where it can really change your facial feature and make you smile in the most unnatural way
What about you? What do you say about cosmetic surgery?

ya sama Mal, gw juga mikir gitu, misal dulu pernah ada yg jidatnya kena kaca trus jadi berantakan trus dibenerin, atau kantung mata *soal ini, kayanya pak presiden perlu banget tuh
* dibenerin..ga masalah la yaw… secara emang perlu
trus operasa payudara dikecilin krn ganggu tulang belakang…
yang kayanya gw gak berani adalah ngerubah banget, gak cuma sekedar memperbaiki yg rusak/sakit. klo rubah banget, takutnya hoki berubah jg, klo lebih bagus ya gpp…tapi klo lebih jelek? resiko kan?
Kayaknya SBY kalo operasi eyelift lemak dibawah matanya udah satu sendok makan tuh saking puffynya. Kemaren nyokap gue satu sendok teh. Serem bener yah itu isinya lemak semuanya.
Dan ini juga 10 tahun setelah eyelift lemaknya bakal balik lagi.
OMG her (.)(.) are that big now? . I think she looks prettier in the before picture.
heidy montag si no comment ya. agak2 fail itu surgerynya. mukanya berubah total and she used to be prettier. and where is she now? 15mins of fame udah angus.
plastic surgery asal koreksinya dikit2 gue rasa masi gapapa yah. eyebags, and saggy skin when you’re older (im thinking 60+). kalo bener2 merubah struktur tulang (gerus rahang, mancungin idung, etc) ya agak terlalu ekstrim yeee. nti beda rupa ama orang tua dan anak sendiri. unless di masa depan nanti udah bisa alter genetics from the womb or something equally scary like that..
padahal waktu maen di The Hills si Heidi udah cakep, pake di oplas sgala, lebay lagi… jadi serem..
You know what goes against my morals? It’s suntik putih. *shudder*
There’s a reason why our skin is the color it is, and not like Kate Winslet’s. And that reason is called t’ropical country’–the reason that our bodies produce melanin, and in quantities determined by thousands of years of human evolution. And if there’s anything I’ve learned in life, is that if you defy mother nature, you will reap bad consequences. Remember the mass sunbathing of the early ’70s?
So yeah, I understand perfectly these British gals’ point of view. Anyone with me for forming the Indonesian Anti Skin Whitening League?
Oh yes Lena I’m so with you. I think I understand the search of the ‘perfect Asian skin’ otherwise known as white skin. Being a medium deep tone myself, when I was younger people always mock me because of my skin. Understanding that there’s nothing wrong with the skin tone that I have took sometime.
ouh… klo suntik putih akika juga serambi bok…. gak cukup pake payung aje ya? kulit coklat bijini aje udah perih klo kena matahari apalgi klo putih yak?
gw bisa bilang yes, klo itu ganggu dan bikin sakit, apapun itu klo buat buang penyakit, hayuk dah… tapi rasanya, suntik putih bukan buat buang penyakit ye…
Sempet bertanya-tanya, kenapa mata gue beda, kenapa tulang pipi gue tinggi.. trus dimanipulasi dengan make-up, I look like everyone else!! So I am now just grateful of my features
So I vote no.
i guess you have those white features, of course i would love to have high cheekbone, zzzz
I would say Nay to plastic surgery, tapi mungkin KECUALI untuk menurunkan berat badan spt liposuction dll. Kalo memang dirasa sudah desperate, dalam artian mengganggu kesehatan, dan segala cara konvensional udah dicoba, why not?
now she look like a porn star, her boob’s so gross now, too much…
Personally it’s a nay because I’m scared of all those syringe and blades, If I had the money and the courage it’s a yay for me. Generally it’s a YAY kalo memang jadinya tambah bagus (untuk kasus2 kayak heidi, jacko, sori guys, you looked better BEFORE surgery) . apalagi buat koreksi eye bag, double chin, hush puppies’ cheeks and eyes, malah recommended kalo emang udah “perlu” dan ada dana serta sarananya. Kenapa ga? Kalo Heidi….. er……. it ga perlu, yang dia perlu adalah konsul ke psikiater. I’d kill for her BEFORE look, why she hates it?
A few years ago, I might say it’s a nay for plastic surgery but now I’m 33, I might even consider it. Yes it’s true that beauty is only a skin deep, but when u go beyond that, the real issue here is self-confidence. Some people will go to extreme measure to feel good about themselves, like those who already went under the knife. It’s a personal option, there is no certain answer, no nay nor yay, I think.
setuju sama Kartix, tergantung kebutuhan juga. kalau untuk kasus Heidi Montag sih ga lihat alasan yg make sense untuk dia plastic surgery, biarpun misalny sukses. because there’s nothing wrong with her appearance.
well, i’m not saying i’m against plastic surgery. cos deep in my heart, i really wanna do a boob job. not as “fantastic” as heidy montag did of course. i just wanna have a cleavage for god’s sake. -_- but when i think about the consequences, like how it would be after i give birth to my child, is it high maintenance or not?, and so on and so on.. maybe i’ll leave my imaginary thought in my silly dream. and be confident with what i have..
