Even though I write both on fashion and beauty, my first love has always been beauty so I jumped right in for the ‘Inside the Bedroom’ invitation from L’Oreal Paris where Dian Sastrowardoyo shared her beauty secret and we heard that there was going to be a product launching. Prior to this event, I’ve heard that L’Oreal Paris will be bringing more products to Indonesia, so I was hoping that this is one among many in the future.

It was in fact the NutriShine from Color Riche that they were launching that day. Color Riche has been noted as number one best-selling lipstick in the world according the data compiled by Nielsen in 2009 and June to August 2010. It’s no surprise because not only that it’s affordable, but the formula is moisturizing with an excellent colour pay off.

Nutrishine is no difference. With the added Royal Jelly and Shea Butter that will give nutrition and moisture to your lips, it combines the function of lipstick, lip balm and lip gloss. The Crystal Polymers contained in this lipstick is what’s giving your lips the glossy finish like you’re wearing a lip gloss. According to Adi Adrian, who is now the Makeup Artist for L’Oreal Paris, you will not need to use lip balm anymore because it’s already moisturizing enough. The best part is that it costs Rp 129,000!

The 10 shades available are varied, from neutral to deeper hue. Dian Sastrowardoyo in the ad used the Sandalwood Beige shade where it gives a nice neutral colour with a hint of peach, suited for both cool and warm skintone. Whereas Doutzen Kroes used Strawberry Juice shade. It’s a cool tone pinkish red that will be harder to work on for warmer tone.

The perfect companion for this lipstick is the Glossy Shine lip gloss where it will add more gloss and a little bit of shimmer to your lipstick. I would apply lip gloss with my fingertips by dabbing it slowly so that the lip gloss and lipstick will blend in nicely and that way it will take away the excess of the lipstick on my lips as well. I learnt this trick from Karim Rahman.

Dian Sastrowardo shared her beauty secrets to keep her lips healthy and fresh at all times:

1. Drink enough of water.
2. Don’t wet your lips with your saliva too often because our saliva also contains bacteria and this will make our lips dry. To moisten your lips, Dian suggested to use honey on your lips before you go to bed at night.
3. Pick cosmetics that contains ingredients that can give nutrition to your lips such as Royal Jelly and Shea Butter that make your lips feel soft and moist such as NutriShine lipstick from Color Riche.
4. Before you apply any product on your lips make sure that your lips are in clean condition so that your lipstick will also stay clean.
5. Don’t forget to keep yourself aware of your lip product expiry date. We don’t want an out of date product touching our lips right?
6. For a fresher look, Dian picks lipstick that can give her crystal clear effect. My suggestion is to use the Glossy Shine lip gloss where it has soft shimmer that gives a bit of shine on your lips.
7. Pick a blush on colour that matches the shade of your lipstick.

During the event, L’Oreal Paris White Perfect which has been reformulated was also launched.
