If you’ve read my post about ARTISTRY, I’ve mentioned about the new product that they’ve just recently launched called ARTISTRY Intensive Skincare Renewing Peel. I’m really curious about this product because according to the brochure that I read, it uses natural ingredient to lift up your dead skin cells without lifting up the healthy skin cells.

The main ingredient, which is the enzyme of Mucor Miehei Mushroom, will work to lift up your dead skin cells until it reaches the cells where the PH is balanced. That’s where the Mucor Miehei Mushroom will stop lifting anymore of your skin cells and therefore it will not cause any irritation. They really got me at the ‘magic mushroom’ that’s smart enough to know where to stop itself

Anyway according to the explanation that I got when I did my skin test with FACES, even though our face looks healthy in the surface but some of us have bacteria named porphyrin. It’s an organic compound that can be found in living tissue or in byproduct of living tissue. It’s produced by Propionbacterium acnes bacteria (P.acnes) that usually live in our pores. This is one factor that contributes to the development of acne. Also, when exposed to the sun, porphyrins may release harmful free radicals that can accelerate skin aging. Really scary indeed! With ARTISTRY Intensive Skincare Renewing Peel, not only that it will lift your dead skin cells but it will also reduce the existence of porphyrin on our skin after one bottle.

What does it promise?

Skin that looks smoother, flawless and glowing. Healthy like a baby’s skin in only 8 minutes time. Sounds like it’s too good to be true right?

Who is it for?

For those who rarely do exfoliation, looking for exfoliation product or any product that can lift up your dead skin cells, without going through any discomfort such as red or irritated skin.

When to use it?

Twice a week for six weeks in a row to get the maximum benefit of this product. Use it whenever you can, day or night. After six weeks’ time, if you still want to continue to use this product, give your skin a rest for six weeks before continuing to use it.

How to use it?

1. Cleanse your face prior to using this product.
2. Pump eight full pumps worth of product to your hand.
3. Spread it all over your face. Remember, the operative word is spread and do not massage it nor tapping it into your skin. Just make sure that you put the product evenly to your skin. Yes it’s going to feel a little bit wet on your face, but that’s how the magic ingredient works.
4. Avoid eyes and lips areas.
5. Leave the product for 8 minutes and you can just do whatever you want in the meantime
6. Wash your face and using your dampened fingers, massage your face and cleanse your face with warm water afterward (room temperature water should be fine too).
7. Use your normal skincare afterward, i.e. toner, serum and moisturizer.

How much?

This part is a bit hazy for members of AMWAY. But for sure, for retail price it’s sold at Rp 995,000 (non member price) for 20 ml. A bottle should last you for six weeks. However, you can get this product with member’s price by joining Amway’s Privileged Customer Program.

My verdict

I like that the product is gel-like formula and it feels cool to the touch. I like products that feel like this, especially during the night where I just want to sleep the day away.

I didn’t find it tingling, tightening my skin or make it dry while I’m using it. Nor did I feel any chemical reaction happening while I’m waiting for my eight minutes to end. Even after I washed it off, I didn’t find my skin tight or dry like when I used other exfoliator. On the contrary, my skin felt moist and supple.

What I felt instantly is my face looked brighter, I think it’s because all the dead skin cells were lifted off so it took away that dullness with it. Dead skin cells can really make your complexion greyish and really bad. So if you feel like your skin is whiter, it’s because it reveals the healthy skin underneath that dead skin cells.

Important note!

• If you have sensitive skin you need to check how your skin reacts to this product since it works intensively. I would suggest for you to pump a little bit of product and try it on the inside of your arm to know the reaction. If it doesn’t show any negative reaction than go ahead and use it on your face.
• If you experience any problem with redness, burnt feeling or itchiness you need to stop using this product immediately. Some skin reacts differently to some treatment.
• While using this product, avoid other products containing any exfoliating ingredients, AHA/BHA and scrub. Also it’s best to skip your serum for the time being and let it work another day (after you’re finished with this product).

Last, but certainly not least, don’t forget to wear your sunscreen, girls!
