I’ve always been a pump kind of girls. To me, pump shoes are classic and the little black dress of shoes, you can never go wrong with pump shoes. I did venture out to the gladiator type a while back. A pair of flats sandal to take me around Europe, because I knew my clothes were gonna be substandard so I relied on statement sandals to spice up the look.
I know shoes or fashion in general is an extension of ourselves. We can express our personality through the style and the color that we chose. But it wasn’t until last month, when my mom was hospitalized for a week that I suddenly had the urge to buy specific shoes in conjunction with what I felt inside. Being the oldest daughter, of course I was the one who was in charge for everything. I won’t be going into details here but in addition to my mom being sick, let’s just say there was a challenge I need to tackle by myself (with the husband supporting from behind). And somehow, I found consolation in those fierce-looking shoes. It felt as if those can give the power and the strength I needed and those straps hug my feet comfortably as if it was to say everything would be okay. A very supportive bunch indeed 
And those tangled straps are also a reflection of what I felt inside; complicated.

By the way, I didn’t get those when my mom was in the hospital though. Those were acquired afterward. Now thank God mom is back in her active mode and I couldn’t be happier (because she is healthy..and because my shoes family are growing )

Han, that’s exactly what I felt three years ago when my mom passed away. It’s kinda weird that I found consolation on my losing by purchasing shoes on the first place. Then, I’ve realized that it was still normal since it didn’t do any destruction to my bank account
. My late-mom was a shoeholic, unfortunately her feet weren’t my size, who was so fond of her collection. Her shoes are still taken care well by my maid. I guess it’s my legacy to continue her passion towards shoes (nyari alasan 
). Otherwise, my partner never complains about my habit so far hehehe
So sorry to hear about your mom passed away *hugs*. Yes, it’s much butter to find comfort on the good looking shoes (that’ll make us look good) other than the not so healthy addiction. Aww that’s so sweet that you still keep the shoes, seru yaa ngebayangin the step that you mom have taken with those shoes
. Maybe when you have a daughter, you can pass them to her

i have those anjani black lace-ups! i don’t really like the batik though, having looked at it first hand. i think imma change it, perhaps batik or perhaps velvet.
agree though, that these shoes are super light and super comfy, and it’s true to size!

. Kalo untuk yang bahannya patent gini mendingan item kali ya, soalnya kalo beige/putih akan gampang kena tanda/coretan.

I usually just buy whichever fancies my taste and suits my budget 
Btw glad your mom is better and back to her old, active self. I can’t imagine how I’d feel if my mom is hospitalized, I’ll definitely be devastated!

. Yes she is back to her active self. She has visited Mangga Dua yesterday, Pasar Kenari the day before, Tanah Abang today and Umrah trip on Sunday. Definitely back
