If you live around Bintaro, especially around the sector 9, I don’t think you can miss Anita salon as it is perhaps he biggest salon in the area. It also seems to be around forever and I thought it was a “no-brainer” choice because they offer an extensive service from head to toe, from cutting, styling, makeup, creambath, manicure, pedicure, waxing, lulur, massage, totok wajah (they’re famous for this service), some weight-loss treatment, and many more. But even though I’ve lived in the area for almost 2 years now, I actually just came to try Anita salon a few weeks ago.

I came desperately in need of a good head and back massage but I also needed some manicure and pedicure. I wanted to try the totok wajah but decided for creambath instead because I didn’t really have much time to spend there. The salon houses a huge 3-story building with a clean and modern interior. The first floor is for cutting, styling, creambath and the usual services, second floor is for totok, lulur, massage, and all those stuff that require more privacy while the third floor is for their weight-loss clinic.
I was actually quite surprised to find that Anita is not a women-only salon as I was seated next to a man in the washing station. Not only that, it seems like some of their employers are also men, so there were quite a few who walk around while I was getting my treatment. It actually made me feel a bit uncomfortable. I prefer to be in a salon where I don’t have to worry about sitting properly or if my bra straps are showing when the creambath lady was massaging my shoulders.
As soon as I sat in the washing station, the lady who was in charge in washing my hair started giving me endless offers of their additional service and products. Do I want regular creambath or hairspa? How about hair mask? Do I want to use hair oil? Hair tonic? Don’t you want to try our lulur? I cut her off and told her I’ve been having problems with hair loss and I asked her to give me a recommendation. She told me I should get a hair mask and purchase a bottle of their hair tonic. I said yes to both but by this time she was already massaging my head, so I would’ve said yes to anything she offered.
Interestingly enough, all products that they use for manicure and pedicure (lotion, cuticle cream, scrub, spray) were their own creations. The hand and foot products are great. They lotion and cream were hydrating and not sticky, the scrub was gritty enough to slough away dead skin cells (and caused considerable pain in the process
) and everything smells minty fresh. Anita salon also make its own concoction of hair products including the tonic I purchased (more on this later).
Too bad, I can’t sing the same praise for the service. I thought it was only okay and bordering on bad. The manicurist and pedicurist did a decent job but towards the end, the creambath lady seemed to be rushing me. While washing my hair for the last time, she answered her mobile phone a few times. When she was drying my hair, she did it halfheartedly and suddenly stopped and told me “Okay, we’re done” while my hair was still wet! When I walked in I told her I didn’t need to style my hair (because I was going to do it again the next day for a wedding) but of course I expected her to dry my hair completely before she stopped the hairdryer! I told her that and she continued drying my hair but with an apparent scowl on her face.
I paid Rp. 265.000 in total for the whole thing: hair mask, manicure, pedicure and a bottle of hair tonic. I suppose it was not expensive but I have had better service for the same price or even less.
The hair tonic is something else. The lady told me it contained ginseng among other ingredients, which she didn’t name. As we know, ginseng has been widely-used to treat hair loss and promote hair growth. In my case, I saw result as soon as the first time I used it. My hair loss decreased significantly. So I’m going to keep using it and see if it will also make my hair thicker in the long run. I just wish there’s some information on the bottle as it only showed a logo, name of product and BPPOM registration number.
So anyway, even though it is strategically located and offers pretty much everything I need for my beauty needs, based on the experience above, I would think twice, even thrice, to come back to Anita Salon.
Have you been to the salon and what do you think of it?

the biggest salon in sight!
yes when I moved around bintaro some years ago, I stepped inside because it’s the first and of course, big enough to offer me a ‘sense’ of serious salon. I havent had a chance to explore bintaro further, so I thought this would be fine.
and I experienced everything Affi said!
they have some male crews walking around, and maybe some male customer, i dont know. it’s really unconvenience being in that ‘crowd’.
i’ve tried some of their service; cutting, creambath, facial and ‘keriting bulmat’! and I couldnt say Im satisfied with the service. plain and too standard!
and of course, Im no longer being their customer ever since. hey, there’s a looot more and better choices in bintaro now
Oh I see. So it wasn’t that I was “unlucky” but their service really isn’t that good. Care to share these “better choices” in Bintaro? Maybe I can pay them a visit and do another review
i live nearby it. And after my 1st visit, i have decided to go there ONLY IF i need totok wajah. End of story.
Actually, my last visit was on last monday. I came there to have my armpit waxed. 10 minutes earlier, i was at Narsih, but i just knew that Monday is their day off. So yeah, i went to Anita.
Based on my experience, Anita salon has a wide range of service to offer (they even offer a ‘kerokan’ service), VERY affordable range of price (becareful to their staff’s nonstop and half insisting offerings), pretty cozy place to be around, but a so-so results.
Here is my recommendation if you ever decide to do a visit ;
-waxing 40k for armpit, 50k for bikini. I wouldn’t recommend the later though, as my little sister had hers done there as her first experience and she was in huge pain, slow process.
-totok wajah for 35k. I always feel fresh after doing it. The most recommended service.
-blow variasi. ONLY IF you can have Arman to do it for you.
-chubby cheek slimming injection. Hardly feeling anything during the process, which is a great advantage to us.
Some products i purchased from it; peeling body lotion and the whitening body lotion.
Having read your review upon their hairloss tonic, i really want to try it as i have the same problem.
Mind to tell me the price?
Thanks
Thanks for the info! Yep, I heard so much about the totok wajah, maybe I’ll come back there and give it a try but not anytime soon (liat gedungnya aja masih males rasanya hehehe)
The hair tonic is Rp. 65.000 btw
I think I know which salon you’re talking about and will try it next time. Thanks for the recommendation, Ara!
Ohhh thanks for the info.
I’m so intrigued by Franky:D Is he still in Anita?
My parents’ house is in Bintaro. I used to go to Anita since I was in the college (1995-2000).
Now I live in Sweden. I ‘mudik’ to Jakarta two years ago. I still went to Anita. I did some treatments: creambath, manicure, pedicure, lulur, waxing, ear cleaning (except for the hair cut). That’s RIGHT I was uncomfortable. The staffs kept offering me their products. This is very annoying to me (I wanna be relaxed in the salon). Why don’t they just have the straight procedure then put it in one fix price? I felt different when I visited Anita 10 yrs ago:(
I planned to get my hair cut with Franky but I was not so sure that time. So I went to Irwan@PIM1 instead.
hmmm… I plan to mudik in April. It seems Franky is not bad at all(for the price, compare to Irwan, I spent 350.000rp in 2008).
I need some recommendation where is a nice salon for treatments around Bintaro.
terima kasih:)
Gw ke Anita ini kalo lagi males mikir mau nyalon dimana, tp Anita yg di rempoa, bukan yg sektor 9… Sama aja kyk pengalamannya Affi, rasanya kyk diburu2 dan staffnya just couldnt wait to rush me off the door and deal with the next client! At one time, i waited for an hour before the start working on me… i swore that day, that i will never go there again, but i did (o_0)…
I wouldnt say that the price is cheap, it’s just so-so… i’ve been to cheaper salons with better service…
Wow waiting an hour is a no-no for me. Apalagi mereka kan banyak banget staffnya ya. Tp mungkin emang pas lg rame banget kali ya?
It’s funny reading the post and all those comments. Me and my 2 sisters have (had. I am now rocking a pixie. =D ) very long, wavy hair. And we LORRVVEEEE Anita Salon for blowdrying! They’re the best.
And yes, we’ve been to much pricey hairsalons for blowdry that charged us twice to FIVE times the price Anita offers with even not half the result Anita gives us. Blowdrying our hair isn’t easy because our hair are extremely prone to humidity, but Anita gives us beautiful hair even for days afterwards!
Totok wajah is also one of the pleasant services. We never had any of the more pricey service like facials or anything of that sort, but we’re happy with the hair work.
This is still my sisters’ go-to hairsalon for special occasions or when they feel like it, since I no longer have long hair to fuss on. I still go there at times for totok wajah. We have our favorite pick of staff, especially for blowdrying. Although we have our hairstylist at another hairsalon that cuts our difficult hair beautifully. And my top pick for manicure and pedicure.
Overall, for basic haircare, me and my sisters are happy with Anita. =]
Glad to know you and your sister had better experience at Anita
umm..i’m one of Anita’s loyal customer from the beginning. My favorite service is creambath spa,the smells last for 3days even when you went into a full-smoker room.So nothing can beat them.Mostly salon in Bintaro using same brand creambath cream which offer wide range as chocolate, coffee, green tea etc (i forget the name) but it never as smell as Anita’s creambath spa
For totok,i prefer totok at Itje Her salon at Panglima Polim, around 60k but they massage your face for 30′ rather than in anita i think it’s only 10′ massage so it worth the price. The massage is so nice they even let you overslept in their place..lol
Yep, Itje Her’s is one of my favorite salons too
I do compliment the ability of Anita salon’s staff to blow dry your hair. Most of the staff are quite skilled so all you have to do just let them know exactly what style that you want. I do agree with the above comments that some salons just charge a fortune for the blow dry. I recently had my haid blow dried in one of the famous salons in PIM and their service was quite mediocre compared with Anita, but I had to pay five times than what i needed to pay in Anita. I still stick the quote “Why do we have to pay more if we can get something with a decent price”.
Thanks for your comment, will try the blowdry next time I go there

I’m so surprise to read this article wrote by Affi about the Anita’s Salon. As far as I know, it’s one of the best salon in Indonesia. It has the most complete treatment for our relaxation and beauty needs. From my own experiences, every time I go there I have always satisfied with their facility, hospitality and their services, either for manicure, pedicure, hair cut, hair treatments, hair styling, body scrub, totok wajah and body massage. Even though I live not so near to Bintaro, I always try to make it my best to come to Anita’s salon. Since I know that I will surely be happy and satisfied with their services as always. What really great is that their prices are very competitively good price comparing to all other Salon around Indonesia. And they have a really cosy atmosphere and a very friendly staffs with competency on their job.
