With the MAC Tartan Tale launching party right around the corner, we thought we’ll give you a little bit of background on Tartan since it’s going to be the dress code for the day.
Tartan usually is made from woven fabric with a pattern consisting of various stripes, criss-crossed horizontal and vertical bands with variety of colours. Originally it’s made from woven wool but nowadays you can find it made by using different materials.
The key of using tartan is moderation and the choice of colours. If you go for bold colours, don’t use it too much but for neutral it’s still acceptable to use more tartan.

Please don’t kill me but I’m imagining kain sarung ala pak Haji…that can be considered tartan too?
hmm, i always consider tartan as the pattern associated with the scottish kilts. sama2 kotak2 sama kain sarung kita, ato rok sekolah gue (lol), but the scottish-inspired ones looks different to my eyes….
