Some of us might have known or participate a contest which judgment is based on online votes. Many of the contest use Facebook as the platforms so the votes are counted by numbers of people clicking “Like” button. Now Panasonic develops the idea into a virtual beauty contest, Panasonic Zoom in Beauty Contest. This contest targets 18-25 year old Indonesian female so that they can show their beauty and talent.

The registration for Panasonic Zoom in Beauty was opened Sept. 3 and it got 1.491 contestants. From that number of contestants, 100 finalists had been chosen. People are invited to give their votes for those 100 finalists by giving their thumbs on Panasonic Facebook fanpage.

Then the finalists should compete in Beauty Challenge to pick 50 candidates. After passing the Beauty challenge, those 50 candidates will be tested in Brain Challenge to examine their knowledge and ability to create an essay. Then they will go through a Talent Challenge that considers candidates creativities in making a video, talent show and photogenic test.

The panel judges for Talent Challenge consist of Jerry Aurum (photographer), Sigi Wimala (model) and Santi Turino (corporate communication manager of PT Panasonic Gobel). They will decide 3 winners that will get several prizes such as Viera televisions, FP1 Lumix cameras, Kurukuru beaty products and chances to be Panasonic model in a product demo video. To be added, the first and second winner will win the trips to Japan.

This contest will be opened until January 2011. So, for those who missed to join the contest as candidates, you are still able to participate in giving votes to the finalists. May your favorite candidate win!
