HypnoLangsing? Can you be hypnotized to be slim?
I bet that’s the question running through your mind right now when reading the title of this post right? Well I’m going to tell you the answer to that in a while, I promise. Just read on.
I first heard about HypnoLangsing from a friend about a year ago. She explained to me what it was all about, but I guess at that time I still thought that I would be able lose weight anytime I want (boy was I wrong), so I didn’t really pay attention. And then, about a month ago, FD forum member, Dewdew, was talking about HypnoLangsing on Twitter and how she had successfully lost some weight with this program. This time, it got my attention because I had been struggling with weight gain that I can’t seem to shake. (More on that later) So I decided to google it and did some reading.
First of all, let me try to make it clear to you that the hypnosis we’re talking about here, isn’t the same one you see on TV where you see people being put to sleep, the hypnotist, clad in black, told them that they’ll be a cow when they wake up, click his fingers and the guy wake up saying “Moo!”. That is called stage hypnosis and it has nothing to do with this program. It also doesn’t involve any esotericism, mystical things, prayers, etc.
Hypnosis is a totally natural state of mind. When under hypnosis you will feel very relaxed, just like that wonderful feeling when you are tired lying in your bed and you are so overcome with comfort that you wish the moment could last forever. When you are relaxed and calm, you can receive positive suggestions more easily. Hypnosis can be used to help you overcome some issues with your life that you want to change, like being overweight, cigarette addictions, stress, insomnia, phobias and many more, and it’s called Hypnotherapy.
Hypnotherapy is a two way process between the therapist and the client, a professional partnership. A person cannot be hypnotised unless he or she agrees and co-operates – this cannot be stressed enough. Also whilst hypnotised, nobody can make you do anything which you do not want to do.

Now about HypnoLangsing. What is it and how does it work?
Despite what you might think, HypnoLangsing doesn’t involve being hypnotized and wake up not wanting to order that cheesecake ever again (it would be great if it worked that way, wouldn’t it?
) HypnoLangsing is a weight-loss program using hypnotherapy and Neuro Linguistic Program (NLP). It provides you an insight of what it is that makes you gain weight, and having trouble losing it, and shows you the ways get rid of the habits that’s causing the aforementioned condition. How? By identifying and performing an “installation” on your subconscious, so you can lose the habit of overeating, emotional eating and also so you can be more motivated to move and exercise.
Through HypnoLangsing, you can achieve the following conditions:
Doesn’t that sound wonderful? Reading those claims made me want to try this program as soon as possible because, even though I have a quite positive body image and I’m not overly obsessive about my figure, I have been rather troubled by the fact that I’ve been gaining some weights for the past year. I realized that some factors contributed to this weight gain; such as erratic eating pattern (I often come home late at night, have my late dinner and proceed to snack all the way till past midnight), relieving myself from stress or tiredness with eating (oh comfort food) and not exercising enough. I know these are all really bad habits yet I can’t seem to change it no matter how much willpower I have mustered up.
HypnoLangsing recognizes my problems and tell me how to overcome them. They have 5 very simple rules that everyone can follow:
Simple right? But of course, installing these new habits when you’ve been spending almost all your life not doing any of those can be challenging, which is why we need to learn more about it, especially the hypnosis part.
HypnoLangsing was founded by Ir. Nunny H. Budialenggana (you’ll never guess her age, she looks fantastic!) and Juli Triharto, CHt, CI, who is a Certified Hypnotist, Certified Hypnotherapist, Certified Instructor, Certified Communication Specialist and Licensed NLP Practitioner.
They released the book ‘The Secret of Slimming – HypnoLangsing’ a few months ago, published by Gramedia, and it is a great way to start familiarizing yourself with this program. But if you want to learn even more, they have group therapy, usually held in FX Lifestyle X’nter, where you meet with Mbak Nunny and Mas Juli in person in a 3 x 3 hours of group session. I bought the book, read it cover to cover and it made me more curious and intrigued, so I decided to join the group therapy. And like always, I will share with you every step of my weight-loss journey, including, of course, the result!
When I’m writing this post, I’ve actually started the program for about 2 weeks (if you follow my Twitter, you might notice the lack of food tweets I do lately
) but I will tell you all about the experience in the next posts.
Also, I didn’t take any “before” picture, but I do have this photo that I took approximately 2-3 weeks before I started the program, so let’s just consider this my “before” picture, okay?

Will I lose weight and stop all my craving for fried rice, cookies, pasta and basically everything that contains starch? Will I finally be able to get the motivation to work out regularly and lose my unhealthy eating habit? Or will I report back to you a month from now, admit shamefacedly that the program doesn’t work for me?

Di kantor ada yang ikut program kaya ini, well kalo dia crita si, butuh di hipnotis karna kesulitan meninggalkan kebiasaan mie instan dan kerupuk, dan kalo gw lait program dietnay sukses
Oh gitu ya yang? Gue sih sebenernya tujuannya lebih pengen ngerubah eating habit yg gak bener sih dan ternyata setelah dipelajari banyak juga manfaatnya belajar self-hypnosis ini selain ngerem emotional eating & craving

Smiley, thank you yaaa! More or less, sama sih sama yg elo jalanin. Gue juga makan seperti biasa tp cuma sampe level netral, otomatis porsinya jauh lebih kecil dan makannya lebih sering. Tp yg gue baca emang pola makan seperti itu kan lebih baik utk metabolisme kita daripada makan jarang tp dgn porsi besar2.

I don’t think I’ve ever been this excited in dieting, though I don’t really see it as a diet, but more of a permanent change in my eating habit. And yes, rule #2 is probably a big reason why I’m enjoying it so much!

Gue udah berapa kali yaa berhenti makan (secara terpaksa sih tepatnya karena nggak ada makanan lagi) pas di neutral phase itu..rasanya kurang nendang tapi yaa…hehehe.
Cuma emang beneran mesti belajar untuk mengendalikan hawa napsu makan nih kalo nggak mau beli celana baru dengan size yang lebih besar sebentar lagi….

Hahahah rese lo! Iya sih han kalo baru awal2 kurang nendang beneeer (apalagi yg terbiasa makan sampe comatose kayak gue :p) tapi di minggu ke-3 dan seterusnya gue sih ngerasa cukup2 aja. Emang bener ternyata, semua hal kalo dijadikan kebiasaan pasti terasa lebih mudah (tsaahh)
Affi.. Kabar-kabari ya kalo beneran sakses! Gue juga lagi desperado sama berat badan gue nih. Udah 2 minggu gue sok-sok food combining dan menghindari carbo. Lumayan sih, karena niat kenceng jadi beneran kenyang cuma makan sayur dan buah. Eh tapi udah 2 hari ini niatnya tiba-tiba kendor dan gue malah laper mulu, whoaaa… T_T
Ira, iya dong pasti gue cerita2 kalo sakses (kalo enggak diem2 aja hahaha). Gue sih udah sering nyoba menghindari jenis2 makanan tertentu ra, tp sering bgt gagal jg karena kalo ada ‘forbidden’ food, yg ada kita malah pengen jenis makanan itu dan makin terobsesi. Ya gak sih?
Gw uda baca bukunya, sebenernya bagus banget krn buku ini menganjurkan kita sadar apa yg kita makan alias ngga emosi sehingga tujuan yg ditetapkan di awal yaitu menurunkan berat badan bisa tercapai.
Namun sayaaanngg, gw masih belum berhasil menurunkan berat badan..susah juga…hikz… Dibutuhkan tekad yang sangat besar sekali serta konsisten & disiplin pada diri sendiri…
Nah gw masi suka nglanggar apa yg gw targetin..hikzzz…

lilimi, kalo pengalaman gue udah hampir sebulan ngejalanin ini sih, sebenernya beratnya itu cuma di minggu pertama aja. Tp seterusnya nggak kerasa berat sama sekali dan IMO, gak perlu tekad dan disiplin, karena toh kita nggak dianjurkan menahan lapar. Paling yg agak susah itu ya ngebiasain diri utk berhenti makan pas udah netral, tp kl di minggu pertama berhasil, ke sana2nya lebih mudah dan jd kayak otomatis aja sih.
Anyway, thanks yaa. Mudah2an tulisan2 gue berikutnya bisa jadi motivasi lg buat dirimu

Hypnolangsing = Hypnoslimming, setahu aku si terapis melakukan terapi kpd si pasien untuk bisa memotivasi diri, konsentrasi dalam menjaga berat badan.
Jd si pasien lbh rajin olah raga, bisa memilih makanan yang lebih baik, dan jg makan hanya pd saat lapar & berhenti makan sebelum kenyang…
