I haven’t blogged about awards show red carpet in a while and I have to say, I was quite excited to watch 2010 Golden Globes today. It has several of my favorite things: TV series, feature films and fashion!
It’s always interesting to see who wear what on the red carpet. There were still a few ‘safe’ choices made by the celebrities to be seen this year, but there were also quite a few of those who went beyond the predictable slinky, one shoulder number, took a risk by showing up in dresses so unusual, it took a while to decide whether we like it or not
Here are the highlights of the red carpet in my opinion:
Ginnifer Goodwin
It may not be a floor-sweeping gown, but I think she looks chic. Love the glossy black short hair and the makeup. Love the shoes. Even the black umbrella looks like it was part of the ensemble. Just LOVE it!
Kate Hudson

The fashion police aren’t giving it much love, but I think this origami Marchesa dress is stunning. It definitely looked better on the TV screen though. The color looks lovely on her and I love her flirtatious lashes & nude lips combo. The only things I didn’t love about this look is the shoes.
Christina Hendricks

I swear I used to own a Barbie doll dress that looks almost exactly like this Christian Siriano’s gown. Too much ruffles for my liking and that top doesn’t look like it fit her well, but I really like that the makeup artist matched her red hair paired with coral red lipsticks. She’s beautiful..
Drew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore was wearing a silk champagne Atelier Versace gown and looked like a goddess. I can’t say anything bad about this girl, seriously.
Julia Roberts

Some people love that she looked totally relax in a vintage YSL, some people think she should dress up more. What about you?
Anna Kendrick

This Marchesa dress seems to have a little too many details (ruffles, floral embellishments) for her but looking at the photo up close, I have to say, her makeup was really gorgeous and that soft updo completes the whole look nicely.
Sandra Bullock

Looking at this Bottega Veneta gown makes me want to run to the nearest store and find something in that shade! Although the fabric kinda reminds me of those ribbons that are used to wrap around gifts..
Christina Aguilera

It’s an unusual dress (it’s made from chiffon, metal and leather!) but I think Christina pulled it off nicely, don’t you?
Anna Paquin

I love True Blood but that dress and those shoes just look so wrong! What do you think? (PS: Doesn’t Vampire Bill look totally dreamy in this picture?
)
Kristen Bell

This dress might be what Kate Hudson’s will look like if someone cuts the hem short and lose a few (okay a lot) details. I do think it’s gorgeous. Ms. Bell looked effortlessly chic and I want those Louboutin heels!
Jennifer Aniston

I know, I know. Another black one shoulder gown? I initially thought she was playing it safe again this year, but after seeing this picture, I changed my mind. That slit is pretty damn high! Also, her glossy hair and glowing skin is to die for.
Marion Cotillard

I don’t why her lacy slip was peeking down her dress, whether it was intentional or a mere wardrobe malfunction, all I know is Marion Cotillard’s makeup was smoking hot! I love that emerald green liner on her lower lash lines that matched her dress paired with sparkly nude lips. Love!
Mariah Carey

No red carpet coverage of the 2010 Golden Globes is complete without a nod to Mimi. I just let the picture speaks for themselves. But you know, if we take a closer look of her face (if you can peel your eyes off her…golden globes), you would see that she actually looked glowing.
The confused list
I’ve compiled these photos together because, until now, I still can’t decide whether I love it or hate it.

Left to right: Diane Kruger in Christian Lacroix, Chloe Sevigny in Valentino, January Jones in Lanvin and Jennifer Morisson in Luis Antonio (please click photos to enlarge)
And let the comments begin!

aniston, sadiiis makeupnyaa, sebenernya rambutnya oke tp kok kaya berantakan yah di foto kedua. she looks sort of boring, tapi tetep cantek beneer.
and i agree, barrymore looks flawless. heavenly adorable
Marion’s peek-a-boo is part of the design, If I’m not mistaken, it’s Dior.
I don’t really like Jennifer Aniston’s safe style. Good thing she took some risks this time. Love her hair and skin, glowing!
Loving Barrymore’s old Hollywood look! Aniston with her toned body & glow is just stunning. Disappointed with all the Mad Men ladies’ dresses, though their make-ups are gorgeous. Where’s Rose Byrne? I think she looks great, too.
Saw Diane Kruger on TV, she looks stunning in that fuschia dress! I don’t think many people can pull that off, but she just seems to have the inner confidence that makes her look good no matter what she wears.
Yep, love Drew, Diane, Ginnifer and surprisingly, Christina A. I agree though with Darling, I fell in love with Rose Byrne, she normally looks so grim and emaciated, but she looked so beautiful in that purple Lanvin (I think?) gown.
For confuse list..
i think Diane and January still in well dress.. but Cloe and Jennifer are a big no no dresses
Cloe and Jen looks trashy in so many ruffles. So sad to see their dresses T__T
this time I love to see Aguilera. thank God, she puts away her trashy look. But whats with the haircut?
Drew is stunning, Aniston safe, Carey? errr…the dress looks fine, but on her? not fine.
Rose Byrne! I knew I had forgotten someone!
I saw her briefly on TV and yes, must agree that she looked great too.
where is anne hathaway?in 2009 she won Best Dressed, can’t find her here. i love anne so bad!!
oh my..christina Hendricks, seems her boobs are going to explode. Mariah Carey, looks her head is so small on that plump body, it looks peculiar!and her dress is s0-so.
aniston is stunning as ever, simple but still regally. and love christina aguilera dress, that dress totally amazing on her.
Drew is totally stunning, but what is the deal with the embellishment on her hips? Looks like a coral is growing out of her hips.. Christina Aguilera is super pretty though
christina aguilera was the winner for me. love her dress, stunning! looked better on her than on the runway model.
also, aniston is so consistently BORING these past few years *yawn*
Christina Aguilera!!!!! you rockkk!!!!!! you pulled it off!!!
kate hudson & sandra bullock dress is so WOW !
perfect , but i love jennifer aniston black shoes so much
Christina Aguilera dree is to die for, absolutely stunning…
love Kate Hudson’s dress..
I do think that Julia Roberts should dress up more.. and the hair oh.. coz she was on the final category!
I felt as though that glamor show lost its climax.. :p
IMO, Mariah Carey gak cocok pake atasan dengan model bahu begitu, terlihat jadi lebih lebar… For Julia Roberts, it was not a Golden Globe’s proper dress.
yes, IMHO Chloe Sevigny dress is a disaster and sorry, but Kate Hudson looks like wearing origami to me. But it’s so true that the fuschia dress of Diane Kruger is totally awesome.
I think you’ve missed two others that pull off some attention that night; Maggie Gylenhaal and Diana Agron. Those three has great dress and my personal choice go to Diana Agron with her silver chiffon dress from Reem Acra Pre Fall 2010. It looks so lovely in her. And Maggie is standing next in line with her RM by Roland Mouret mermaid gown. The cutting is unique and the color choice is perfect for her.
sorry for bad typo
I mean those two has great dresses, not three
1st place is Kate Hudson
2nd place is Christina Aguilera
3rd place is Anna Kendrick
worst is Mariah, i love ur voice and songs but on that dress sorry u r out
Love Kate Hudson make up, and anniston looks pretty boring with that black dress and that messy hair. better change your style Jenn….
