Giving New Life to Your Dearest Shoes

I always try to find a Do-It-Yourself project for the weekend, and never actually have time to do it. I found Etsy as one of the most inspiring place to start any DIY project, as it’s filled with many beautifully hand made items. One of my latest finding is Crafttastrophe, which incorporates doodles, paintings and other creative ideas to the off-the-shelf shoes and transform it into one of a kind, unique pair of shoes.
This gives me an idea of how to turn old shoes into something more exciting.
You have a pair of old boots that look to dull and somehow don’t fit with the latest trend category of fierce and interesting? Go get yourself those flannel panel and cut it into interesting shape and glue or stitch it into your boots, and voila? The boots are reborn into something else altogether.
If you grew tired of bling ala Mano on your cell phone, you might as well channel your creativity and encrust those rhinestones into your pumps and give a fabulous new life to it. I think this can only be done by those who has mastered the art of patience.
For those who love to doodle, why not try it on your wedges. Grab a permanent marker and doodle random but cute and interesting objects and personalized it.
However, DIY projects always pose a threat of failing, always try it first with something that you have nothing to lose.
