Carine Roitfeld, the Editor-in-Chief of French Vogue has been sporting a new look lately. She was photographed in and out of Fashion Week wearing outfits in neutral tones, totally different than her usual black-on-black ensembles, which I think is refreshing.
Safari-inspired outfit is one of my (many) weaknesses, I just adore the color palettes (taupe, green, grey, khakis, ivories) and the simple, thus practical, style and cutting (think trench coat, blazer, button down shirts with easily distinguished little details like button, collar and epaulet (you know that little strap on the shoulder usually found in military uniform?).

In my world, safari look is a classic, although it can be boring to see the same tones and silhouette from head to toe. One of the keys to keep it modern and not so straight out-of-the-African-wildlife is to pair it with interesting shoes, like she does. I’m still thinking of other ways to make it look metropolitan-friendly. Maybe to break up the tone and wear statement jewelry? Do you think it’ll be good to keep the tone in the family or a pop of color would suit even better? Ideas, ideas.

Mellorange: I know…sayang dia nggak suka bawa tas.
Moopiechan: I love them too…:)

i love these colour tones too! they are so versatile and less harsh than black. beige/khaki/ivory can go with almost anything, love it with crisp white shirt and red cardi. jungle green looks good too with royal blue/pale blue. of course killer shoes to macth!

Morgan: Royal blue and jungle green? Never thought of that before, perlu dicoba tuh..
Slesta: iya shin, sepatunya killer yah. You can just wear skirt and plain tee and the shoes will elevate the outfit in a heartbeat.

Amal: Dari depan sih iya keliatannya kaya Alaia yaa. Tapi yang Alaia kan pinggir2nya kaya renda2 yah? Atau eyelet? Mesti liat blow up picturenya dulu..
Ditzyditz & Indrya: She doesn’t need bags kali yah, her assistants can help carry her essentials..:D
