One of my new hobbies since I started writing for FD is trying new drugstore products. It’s a wonder how affordable product can be so good, and that you don’t have to cry every time you pay in the cash register. My newest encounter is the Ponds White Beauty Shake and Clean. I came across this product when I was out of my cleansing oil and I was in Carrefour to do monthly grocery. I thought that spending Rp 11,000 for 100ml worth of product it’s not bad at all, so I took my chances.
The product consists of toner and cleanser in one bottle. You can see in the clear bottle that there is oily pinkish liquid at the top of the clear liquid. Prior to usage, you’d want shake the bottle until the two liquid mix well. With this mixture, the product aims to cleanse your face thoroughly. It also contain AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid), promising a brighter face as a result. However, this product contains high level of alcohol and it may help with the cleansing yet revitalizing your face in an instant. For those who experience hypersensitivity from alcohol-based products, you may want to skip on this one. As for me, my very-dry skin did not find the product drying, despite the high level of alcohol. In fact, my face feels moist afterward.
It does one hell of cleansing job! I use just enough to wet one cotton pad and it was able to remove even the thickest make up easily. I do, however, still wash my face with facial foam and use toner afterward, because I don’t feel comfortable using product that contains oil right before my skincare.
Since this cleanser contains alcohol, please avoid eyes and lips areas. It does bug me that I have to use different product for the eyes and lips, but I’m already head over heels with this cleanser now!

Gw biasa di jkt pake yg ijo mal. Enak praktis kl lagi ga dandan berat2, malem gw bersihin pake ini. Dan pastinya gw juga cuci muka lagi bo, ga enak minyak2 ..dan ga tenang takut ada yg masi tinggal. Kl yg ijo ada mint2 nya, mayan kenceng pas baru2 pake. Oyah sariayu juga ada yg kayak begini, lumayan enak juga krn ga begitu berasa alkohol banged kayak yg ponds. Alkohol apa mint yah .. ga tau ah gelap
ih amoi…. gw juga suka yang ijooo…. pertama rada pedes bener, kayak perih, tapi lama2 biasa aja *udah baal*
Gw pake ini waktu jaman kuliah duluuuuuuu…. Pernah nyoba 2-2nya yg ijo n pink.
masih pakai yang ijo sampe sekarang, segeer tapi ya itu oily banget, cuci muka lagi baru keset..
First time I use. This products.. It sting my whole face.. Langsung perih2 kaya mau kebakar trus gue coba 2 kali sampe 5 kali tetep bgitu
kayanya gue ga bisa sama alkoholnya deh.. And produk ponds ga cocok ma gue padahal gue suka wanginya yg pink huhuhuhu
Gw pake kalo lagi males kena aer. Abis cleansing milk, trus diusap aer Pond’s indang buat melenyapkan sisa2 mekap.
g dah pake ini dr thn 2003 an…..ga prn mengecewakan, muka kaenya lbh putih n cerah bis pake ini
oh my i happen to saw one yesterday but i didn’t buy that. it seems that ponds shake n clean is toner. haha but i don’t really like ponds product. they make my skin even worse y know.
So I think its either work or not for you. But if it works thats real lucky coz its damn cheap! Mine is finishing soon, shall get 1 to replace
i do like this product, love the green one, it doesnt dry my skin at all. and the most important, it doesnt dry my wallet either! LOL…..
semper fi==> ha? you love the green one? that’s for oily skin isn’t it? let’s toss coz i have the same skin type
!! but i read the ingredient n y know what? (you must be knew this) it contains alcohol and deszell said so. Alcohol does dry your skin n who wants to have a dry skin?
deszell==> does ponds have acne treatment series besides it’s facial foam n toner? i just ask, it doesn’t mean that i want to replace my whole medication with ponds lolz
Mei Lin – not sure about skin care targeting for acne prone skin, I think one is for whitening and the other one for oily skin. I have very dry skin, if I used my moisturizer afterward I find that I can survive the alcohol on this cleanser.
Deszell – any cleanser without alcohol? i know if you think about it too much you’ll increase the success rate of alcohol to dry up your skin coz of the power of suggestion lol
about ponds, do you really love their skin care products?
Mei Lin – the only non-alcoholic toner (sounds like a drink LOL) I’ve tried so far is Clinique Mild Toner. I think they’re great but Im just sold to toner w/ alcohol I somehow felt that they’re cleaner. I know like u said that its the power of suggestion.
IMO their line with anti aging, the red one, are quite good. My auntie and grandma use them and its really great for drugstore brand. Of course cannot compare to higher end product though. But they’re packaging are quite good too.

Gue suka banget ama Pond’s shake & clean ini! My staple. Udah abis berbotol-botol. Ngga pelit juga makenya, soale murah hehehe…
Tadinya underestimate, tapi ternyata bersih kok. Bisa ngangkat sampe ke ‘dasar’ (sunscreen, maksudnyah). Alkoholnya emang kenceng sih, tapi spt kata Amal. Skin care yg dipake setelah itu bisa ngatasin dgn baik. Gak bikin kulit gue kering juga.

Pond’s Shake ‘n Clean ini juga mantep buat nyuci brushes loh… Kocok2, tuang ke cangkir secukupnya, trus aduk2 pake brush… Langsung keluar semua kotorannya. Abis itu cuci pake shampoo lembut + keringkan. Gue udah ga pernah beli MAC brush cleaner lagi tuh.. Cobain deh!
dulu pernah pake yg ijo, sempet bertahan hmpir 2 thun, coz praktis n bersih. pertama pake awalnya terasa lembab tapi akhir2 nya kulitku jadi kering
akhir2 bye2 deh cari produk lain, n sekarang udah pas banget sama nivea yang cleansing milk + toner
gue pake yg ijo secara jenis kulitku oily.cocok aja so far.praktis lg,tp memang setelahnya pake facial foam.kalo ga kayak lengket2 di muka
