This picture of Lauren Bush was taken last May during Costume Institute Gala 2009, she was wearing Ralph Lauren by the way and instead of going all glamed up from head to toe, she opted for going casual from the waist up to the neck by wearing a vest. Not as an outerwear or underneath a blazer but wearing it solo. The sack clutch adds more casualness into the outfit. What do you think, girls? Is it ok to wear vest on its own? Or do you think it’s too bare?
By the way, the clutch is designed by her, the sales go to feed children in Rwanda via the U.N. World Food Program’s School Feeding Project. Kudos to her!

gue rasa one of the reasons dia pake itu because it was for the Costume Gala. emang yg dateng malam itu pake bajunya agak nyentrik2 dikit kan? i mean, gak formal2 cakep2 kayak ke Oscar.
Banyak yang YAY yaaa, kalo gue, yay nya untuk dipake orang aja deh, dan itu juga nggak yang terlalu terbuka banget. Untuk sendiri sih I’ll just keep it as an outerwear..:D
Celia: Temanya sih ‘Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion’ dan kebanyakan yang dateng sih cukup normal yah, nggak nyentrik…giliran yang aneh dikit malah masuk ke ‘worst dressed list’ gitu. Tapi memang mungkin acaranya nggak terlalu formal juga ya.
Well.. waistcoats or vests come with different types of collars. I think Lauren is wearing one with a notch collar. So in her defense, I say at least she didn’t choose a shawl collar cos it would have been too dressy wearing a vest without a shirt or a jacket. But I agree with everybody that pairing it with some denims or matching trousers would enhance her overall silhouette.. !
keren. the bangle, oohh myy!! tapi vest-nya sexy banget. too bare gitu gak sih? kalo dia ambil sesuatu di depan, pas bungkuk itu bagian keti-nya kebuka gak ya??? terus bh-nya model apa tuh kalo gitu??? tapi overall i love it! even tho i will never have the guts to wear something like that tho!
