Handbag designer Rachel Nasvik is inviting everyone to treasure hunt her signature Alice Bond bags this weekend around New York. She will be placing 90 purses in unexpected places around the Big Apple. They will be left in club restrooms, abandoned in cabs, forgotten on park benches.

The purses will be filled with what women usually carry around her purse, lipglosses, key chains from Thea Grant, matches, etc..and a special note saying “You did not find this bag; this bag found you. Lucky.” A URL reveals NYC designer Rachel Nasvik as the mastermind behind it.

To those who have found her bags, are requested to comment on her blog under the picture of the bag they’ve found. And let her know who they were with, what they were drinking, and who they may have kissed in the places where they found the bag.

It’s a very smart marketing gimmick, it definitely would attract people’s attention and make people aware of her label. Who dislike to get anything for FREE these days? Every start-up designers should consider this tactic as part of their marketing tools.

If you happen to be in New York and want to hunt for free designer handbag, follow Rachel Nasvik‘s twitter and her blog to get clues where she would “abandon” her bags.
