Holiday season is almost upon us. Some of us have started planning the next family getaway - going abroad or exploring the sceneries within Indonesia (I heard Padang is beautiful!) or just taking the kids to the local water park. Whatever you do, if you go near any water, you’ll most likely need a bathing suit right?
I think I may need to go shopping for a pair too, it’s been a while since I do any swimming in the public area and now that my daughter is big enough to enjoy going to the water park, I’d like to take her in a stylish, yet mom-appropriate swimwear. Now even though I mentioned before that I am quite comfortable with my body shape, I don’t think I could pull off wearing a bikini. But I don’t like one-piece bathing suit, I just find them to be a hassle to put on (and to get out of while wet!) so my eyes are now fixed to getting a pair of…tankini!
Tankini is a 2-piece swimwear but the top part looks like a tank top instead of a bra (hence the name). I think tankini is the perfect choice for curvy girls like me who doesn’t like one-piece bathing suit but still wants enough coverage.
I remember seeing many cute ones in Debenhams, Senayan City but when I was browsing around for some ideas, I found even more that are irresistible!

If you’re still feeling self-conscious about baring all of your thighs, you can opt for the ones with skirted bottom or a skirted one-piece (known as swimdress) like shown below. I simply love the one in fuchsia with the mest overlay, it is sexy in a subtle way. Or, you could simply pair the tankini top with briefs, boy shorts or boardshorts for a sporty look.

waaaahhh…i love the flowery black and white set. The problem with tankini (for me, at least), it’s designed with a flat-tummy girl in mind, so when I put on mine, it doesn’t cover the whole tummy, instead, it stops at mid tummy (thanks for my curve there

i love tankini! i have one too.. sama kayak anthy, it’s the halter top paired with boyshort. but i have several pairs of bathing suits (including the one piece and bikini), since i’ve been taking my daughter for swimming almost every week. but i had to refrain myself not to wear the bikini cuz i need bathing suit that would cover the mark that keeps reminding me i once had a baby inside my belly! damn stretch mark!

pas bgt koukla, di sini OLD NAVY lg getol2nya iklan-in Tankinis mereka, murmer pula.. dan skrg sptnya swimwear lg balik ke model2 one-piece modifikasi, gaya 50s gitu hollywood glamour jaman dulu atau ga one-piece yg ada cut-out nya.. byk di catalogs2x nya delia’s, alloys, sampe victoria’s secret..
kalo gw pun di jkt, ga brani siy make bikinis, bawaan nya risih kecuali di private pools.. mungkin kalau di bali atau lombok beda yah, crowd nya uda biasa.. hanya sebel nya make one-piece / tankinis itu, tan lines nya ga rata ! jadi belang2 yah

Gue suka sama tankini… tapi setelah punya beberapa pair, gue give up aja deh, lebih milih swimsuit 1 pieace ato yang bikini skalian. Soalnya dengan bentuk badan gue yang pinggangnya kecil tapi berpinggul besar, make tankini tuh bikin gue gak nyaman. Bawaannya naik2 terus dan malah jadi gak rapi. Apalagi kalo lagi berenang trus harus nurun2in bagian atasnya biar perut dan pinggang gue gak kliatan. Ribet nekkkk.

same problem here, which is why I included the black n white flowery one and also the black polka dot one. Mudah2an bisa ketemu yang modelnya begitu di sini because it looks like it’s a bit loose so must be a lot more flattering and comfortable than the other tankinis..

Iya biasanya sih di brand2 surf gitu surfer girl, roxy, billabong dll. Dulu gue punya dan asli berguna banget tuh, dipasangin sama bikini juga bisa kalo nggak nyaman pake bikini bottom biasa.
