If a bencong recommended a product and another diehard bencong also telling us that it’s a keeper, what a confused bencong wannabe like me got to do? Jump the bandwagon, of course! I remember long time ago reading on Forum about Awake Mascara, recommended by DesZell and also tested by Dundan. So when I stumbled upon a bunch of Awake Mascara on sale, I picked one and hoping that it will live up to my expectation.
I’ve never been aware of the whole Japanese cosmetics scene before, and I didn’t even know that Awake is actually made by Kose Cosmetics. No wonder that it is quite pricey for a mascara. The one that I bought, the Escalate Lash Mascara is retail for $23, while the regular mascara is even pricier at $26. This mascara promises the moon and more: it suppose to provide volumizing and curling effects while creating full, natural looking lashes. And by ’natural looking’ it will give greater volume at the base and less on the tip for the real looking lashes that do not look made-up.
It was love on the first swipe when I wear it the next day. In contrast with the one I used before, Awake doesn’t clump at all. The mascara coats each individual lash nicely, making my lashes look longer and separated. Second, the curved wand help to maintain the shape after curling. I had a particularly long day, but at the end of the day I observed that my mascara still stay put and my lashes retained a little curl. It was more than 12 hours after iniatial application (I don’t reapply) and I’m more than happy with the results.

This mascara does mostly as promised. You won’t get fuller or ‘fatter’ lashes with this one. What you’ll get is lashes that look naturally longer and curled as if you’re born with them, even after a long day. Added bonus: it’s also easy to remove. I just use my usual eye make up remover, and it’s gone without excessive rubbing and scrubbing.
So next time you spot the bencongs raving about a product, eventhough it doesn’t catch with many, do yourself a favor and just follow the recommendation! I did and I’m happy with the result.

Kalo gue ngefans sama Japanese Skincare tapi belum pernah nyoba makeupnya kecuali untuk beberapa Shiseido makeup. Awake ini ada di Jakarta ga ya ?

Iyank, warnanya emang coklat. Keliatan ya? Ada yg ijo, biru, plum segala, tapi yg item udah abis. Maklum namanya juga clearance, hehehehhee….

looks good.. bisa beli di mana ya? mau aku bandingin sama mascara terbaru ku yg super mahal tapi worth every sen… judulnya Tsuya Tsuya Angel eyes… selama ini sih paling panjang n tebel di banding yg ada di semua counter dept.store. Tapi harganya… lebih maha dari channel… hehe.. lumayan gal perlu bulu mata palsu lagi sih…
