Still looking for the perfect outfit to wear on your New Year’s Eve? Now that sequins, rhinestones, crystals, gems, and basically anything that sparkle are back in the “radar”, why wouldn’t we all “Go Glam” once and for all =) It’s the time of the year to dare yourself to look bold and dazzling, while wearing “over-the-top” fashion could be acceptable ;P lol

If you follow Gossip Girl religiously, you’d notice Serena Van der Woodsen (I just LOVE to write down her full name =) flaunting her flirty sequin dresses many times..and how they all fit her like a glove! Gwyneth Paltrow, Diane Krueger, Sienna Miller and every fashion darlings have been seen wearing playful sequin mini dresses to several red carpet occasions.

French connection (FCUK) has been carrying a great number of sequin mini dresses these past few seasons, followed by other mass retailers like Bebe, Club Monaco, Topshop, H&M, and many others. 

If you’re not into sequins, you could opt for something less flashy but timeless, like a chic fringe dress and dazzling into the 20′s vibe with one strand or multiple layer of pearls. You could also jump into the recent trend by choosing a classic black lace dress. Otherwise, simply go for a little black dress, the proven path. Choose the one that has an unusual cut and shape; like a tulip shape LBD, an asymmetrical cut, a menswear tuxedo shape, LBD with accentuated shoulders or some bold details which could bring your LBD up a notch.

You could never go wrong with the right LBD! For your New Year celebration, just throw some bling jewelries with your LBD,  a pair of statement shoes, and enhanced with the right makeup, lips, hairdo and wearing the latest nail colors *grey/silver or even golden nails .. You’re all set for counting down the seconds to a new year.

Want to be the center of attention and wear some bold colors instead? Try jeweled tone dresses in mimosa color, deep plum, ruby red, blue sapphire, or emerald green.

Still want to go further? You could add unique headpieces to your hair, from bow headband, feather hair clip, jeweled hair pins, unusual hats to jeweled crowns as seen below, could be your statement accessory.(mentok2x.. paling jadi ondel-ondel hehe =d). 

Remember, simplicity and balance are the keys: if you’re already wearing a “messy” sequin dress, or any dress that sparkles, then don’t over accessorize. If your dress is simple, in one solid color, then the sky is the limit in terms of accessories. But again, in this special time of the year, everyone is pretty much allowed and excused to wear anything over-the-top!
