Penny Loafers ‘Vs’ Boat Shoes

Tired of your open-toe ankle booties, oxfords, round-toe retro pumps, gladiator sandals, sky high heels like those crazy ones posted on FD a while ago? Maybe, it’s time to switch to penny loafers. Early this fall, the New York Times magazine reported about the comeback of these classic loafers. These loafers are definitely NOT your typical granny loafers, although these particular shoes have been around for a while. Today, these penny loafers come in a wide range of styles, from open-toe (like those Louboutins on the left), squared-toe, rounded-toe, to pointy. Their heels are also varied from narrow stilettos, stacked heels to comfy flats.

Tod’s, known for their classic and comfortable driving shoes *the ones with the rubber patch, has a pair of cute flat penny loafers which wouldn’t make your feet suffer.

I’m definitely eyeing the ones with tassels to replace my destroyed tassel pumps which I’ve been wearing for more than four years! *Watch out FDers for the tassel trend on accessories lately ..

Besides those penny loafers, the sporty and masculine boat shoes are also making a huge comeback in the mens footwear. Vans have been carrying these styles for a while, Rockfort, Clarks, Sebago, and on the upscale range like Gucci, Bands of the Outsiders, Cars Shoes, Ralph Lauren, (among others) have also been carrying these mens boat shoes. I honestly found these boat shoes pretty much unisex. I definitely love the two-tone version. These boat shoes definitely remind me of those Minnetonka moccasins or the Miu Miu mocs from its past collection a couple of years ago. If you feel like playing “matchy matchy” with your other half, then wear your penny loafers and let your beloved one wear his boat shoes ;p lol

nggak pernah beli loafers gara2 gak pernah ngerasa cucok (im sneakers, peeptoe & boots kinda girl) tapi gara2 tergoda sama loafers murmer rockport di MP aku beliiii deh barusan!
ngebayangin dimix pakai tights putih atau dipake ala kirsten dunst (atasannya punya mirip bgt juga!) wahh..cant wait loafersnya nyampe rumah!
