Indonesian Fashion Spot!

I like to plan my makeup for special occassions more than I plan my wardrobe and Idul Fitri is no exception.

Now we all know that Lebaran means we’ll get together with our relatives, usually going from one house to another, sungkem, talking, laughing, eating (oh glorious food!) and well…sweating…a lot. This you have to take into consideration when putting on your face. I would want to skip the fabulously creamy eye pencil if it’s only gonna end up in your auntie’s kerudung. Nor would I want to wear a super glossy lipgloss which will disappear faster than you can say “ketupat sayur” or worse…creating a sign on your cousin’s cheek.

The basic items that I usually choose is the followings :

• MAC Studio Fix Fluid – this is the only liquid foundie I have proven to last a sweltering hot Jakarta day, but only if worn after :
• Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer – Need I say more?
• MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack – Can’t do me no wrong
• L’Oreal Volume Shocking Exact Brush Mascara – getting this off is a pain, but that’s something I’ll tolerate for this occasion
• Tarte Cheek Stain in Tipsy under any powder blush (this really does help making any blush last a long time)
• Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited lipsticks – the formula is non-drying yet stays close to the lips, quite long-lasting and there are a wide choice of colors and textures

Michael Kors SS 09 – For busy moms (just put on the lipsticks and go!)
