Exciting news everyone!

The MAC Pro Team – a group of makeup artists who work backstage at 175 fashion shows worldwide – will use Twitter this season to give a real-time updates about their experiences working behind the scenes at the upcoming New York, London, Paris and Milan collections.

Twitter, as most of you probably know already, is a micro-blogging service available online and via any mobile phone.

“MAC and Twitter is the perfect backstage collaboration,” said Laura Elkins, VP of Consumer Marketing and Artist Relations at MAC Cosmetics. “Only MAC knows how to quench the craving for instant information on the makeup trends that dominate the Fashion Week scene. “For the first time, our MAC Senior Artist Team can give instant, detailed insight into what happens backstage, all in real-time.”

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2009 kicks off on Friday, September 5 and runs through Friday, September 12. To follow MAC Senior Artists backstage at shows including Gordon Espinet from the United States, Terry Barber from the United Kingdom and Vanessa Rozan from Brazil, visit the MAC Cosmetics Facebook page to subscribe to the MAC S/S’09 Twitter widget on the right column.

Special thanks to MAC Cosmetics Indonesia for the image and press release!
