I’m not the kind of gal (not yet a woman) who takes interest in every make-up that is new in store. My usual routine was moisturizer slash sunscreen, concealer and loose powder. So when Make Up Forever HD series were launched, I thought “Okay, let’s see what that’s about.” I didn’t like foundation because they tend to be cakey. Don’t let me start on two-way cake or pressed kind, I only wear it when I have to – to weddings – and I usually don’t like what I see in the mirror after that. A bit crack here and there and deep lines where my ‘fine’ laughing lines are.
So when I got this nifty sample size of Make Up Forever HD Foundation, I was just a bit curious and decided to try it on for a day. It wasn’t even my correct shade, but I tried it on anyway. I noticed that the liquid glided on easily on my skin. When I looked in the mirror on the day light, it’s not obvious, yet it covered my freckles and spider veins also a bit of my shadow underneath the eyes nicely. I used only a very bit of concealer after that. So this was what they’re talking about: The foundation gives medium coverage, yet it’s so lightweight that you hardly can feel it!
I was checking my self in the mirror for a couple times that day, and I was pleasantly surprised. The foundation really hydrates my dry skin, so it didn’t look flaky, even after day-long air conditioner. It also give my skin a bit sheen, just about right without making it look oily. When I reached to get my compact to powder my nose, and I saw them in the mirror, I thought, “Hey, I don’t really need to powder my nose!” Nice.
So I talked my sister about buying me the full sized bottle for my birthday present, and I never looked back. Next thing would be getting the sponge thingie that they recommended for the applicator. Or maybe the colorless loose powder that they said would give a perfect finish to the foundation. I think it’s not too late to give me birthday present. Anyone?
Foundation Rp 375.000
Powder Rp 300.000
Kabuki Brush Rp 490.000
Sponge Rp 135.000

Sudah nonton “The Devil Wears Prada”?

An amazing number of talented fashion designers have emerged from “the underground”, from the brilliant Rodarte sisters, Doo.Ri, Mike & Chris, ThreeAsFour to Ohne Titel. Yet, there are still many undiscovered designers with extraordinary talents which haven’t been widely exposed. Let’s bring those hidden gems to the surface and explore their marvelous journey surviving in this cut-throat industry. We will try to BRIEFLY feature a variety of talented individuals from various creative fields *hopefully related to fashion, art, and beauty, whose dedication and hard work could serve us as inspirations. Our very first designer “du jour” is Alexander Wang, an upcoming designer who has taken the fashion industry by storm at the tender age of 24! Named “the coolest kid in Manhattan“ by Teen Vogue, Wang’s recent collaboration with UNIQLO created a “chaos” during its first launch in Japan.

What : Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Raspberry
What It Does : A cream-based formula for the lips and cheeks, perfect for creating a “stained” look or a glow that seems to be coming from within
Bonus : The formula blends like a dream! There is no dragging or pulling plus it is surprisingly pigmented so a little goes a long way! (Sorta justifies the price). I opted for Raspberry shade - thinking that the more popular Pink Raspberry will be too pink on me - and boy did I make the right choice! It is a gorgeous colour. On my cheeks, it looks like I’ve been spending time in the outdoor (minus the sweaty face of course) and on my lips, it makes me look like I’ve been eating …well…raspberry!!
How Much : $22 in bobbibrowncosmetics.com

If you’re planning to do some shopping this weekend, why don’t you head over to Belles De Jour (BDJ) Boutique in Kemang for something different? I’m pretty sure all the malls will be too crowded, besides, you’ve seen everything there is to see there, right?
BDJ sells authentic branded items that are lower than the retail price, and what makes it more a must visit place this Sunday is because some of the members at the forum are going to have a mini bazaar at BDJ. Thanks to Marie, the owner of BDJ, who has facilitated this event so all the girls can come with all of the stuff they want to sell (many of them are boutique owner too), giving you more beautiful choices to choose from. Not only you’ll get great goodies at great prices, you will also meet many new friends a.k.a the wonderful ladies from the forum. So call your girlfriends and schedule for a date tomorrow, you can start the day with Sunday brunch and then stroll around Kemang area afterwards and end the weekend at the bookstore or one of the coffee shops.
P.S: Don’t forget to bring your credit card..:p

Many people think that sunscreen is just a different name for sunblock. There is actually a difference between these two products. Sunscreen, just like what the name suggests, screen(filter) the ultraviolet rays, meaning it absorbs some and leave the really bad things out, they call it a chemical block, and with sunscreen, you can still have tan and sunburn. Sunblock blocks the ultraviolet rays completely, it won’t let anything gets through your skin since it sits at the surface of your skin and it will reflects the sunlight back into the atmosphere. They call it a physical block.

I’m a die-hard Lost fan. I don’t care if some people think the story is getting more and more confusing and far-fetched. I am gonna keep watching until I find out who Jacob is and how those Oceanic Six managed to get off the island!
Anyway, one of my favorite gal character from the show is Evangeline Lilly. She is a stunner with her tanned complexion, beachy hair and amazing figure. I totally have a girl crush on her and she was also the reason I used to wear bronzers everyday for a few months - until I moved on to my next obsession.
So I came across this photo of hers from this year’s Golden Globe red carpet and I am so loving this look! She managed to spark up the safe bronze eyes-meet-peachy-cheeks with a touch of emerald green liner on the bottom lash lines that matches her earrings and dress. Oh and those dazzlingly shimmery lips? Gorgeous!
There are many products you can use to achieve this look of course, but on top of my head are : MAC Amber Lights eyeshadow, Technakohl liner in Jade Way, Stila Convertible Color in Petunia and Tarte lipgloss in Elle & Emmet.
I am so doing this tomorrow!
