It pains me to confess this, but I couldn’t hold it in any longer.
Ever since I gave birth, I started streamlining my makeup routine to save time. Gone were the days when I could spend 30 mins or more applying makeup from primer to powder. Gone were the days when I could conveniently choose a number of eyeshadows to play with or experiment with a new lipcolor. Believe it or not I have some products in my makeup bag that are still in their packaging!
But as a true banci dandan, I of course could not completely go without makeup. Oh, that would absolutely kill me! So instead, I maximize the functions of a few products or completely skip a step.
For example, I’ve been deliberately skipping eyeliners these past couple of weeks. As you know, applying eyeliners require precision, patience and most of all time. I tried using pencil, but still – applying pencils on your eyes in a moving car – where the risk of being poked is considerably high – is no easy feat. So I chose to load up on mascara instead.
Fortunately, when I was browsing MAC website today I found that one of this year’s Spring Summer makeup trend is a look that requires no eyeliners called Slated. This look focuses on the eyes, using grey and silver shades. What’s even cooler is that you don’t even have to use many shades to achieve the look (just 1 or 2 will do), then you blend blend blend, use mascara and that’s it! It’s edgy, modern yet still work-appropriate. And completely doable!
Key products : Eyeshadow in Shale (satin), Poison Pen (Matte2), Charred (Frost), Pro Lash Mascara (or any glossy black mascara, right now I’m using Maybelline Volume Express Hypercurl). I’ve also been creating this look using Mineralize Eyeshadow in Silversmith. It’s got silver and navy blue shades in one pan so that saves even more time and space!
Additional tips : Even though it’s a subtle smokey-eye look, it’s still pretty strong. So you might want to go easy on the cheek and lip color. Stick with sheer pinks or nudes, they’re always safe.

yustin, dhyta..sama doong, ini juga cocok buat gue..hihi, jangan bilang nggak bisa pake eyeliner dong, bilang aja kan kita emang so way ahead of the trend..:D
buat gue silver/slate lebih susah dipakenya karena warnanya make me look washed out deh, trus it highlights my dark circles! noooo….

For me, it’s on the other way around. Aku mending gak pake e/s daripada g pake eyeliner and mascara. Nah lhoo…. Anyway, aku pengen coba juga sih… Semoga daku bisa berhasil!! Thanks Koukla for the entry..

when in a hurry i put on brown e/liner (in a thick line, making it doable in a hurry), a bit of blush, and lipstick in a strong color (sometimes applied on the ojek), done!
but i’ll definitely give this gray smokey look a try

duuhh,, itu keren yah yg di gambar… tapi me likey and love liquid eyeliner… gw malah ga pinter pake eyeshadow… tapi harus belajar nih…
it didn’t look alright on my eyes. Mungkin bagus untuk yang matanya kayak bentuk mata bule ( agak ‘masuk’ ke dalam ). Atau salah aplikasi guenya.
Btw, tips nih kalau susah pakai eyeliner liquid gimana kalau pakai yang pensilnya dulu jadi kalau salah tinggal dibener2in dikit baru kalau udah pas dipasang yang liquidnya.
