I know it’s a little bit too late to post this. Probably some of you have already seen it yourself. A friend of mine told me about it a couple of months ago *last year, to be exact. But hey, it’s better late than never. FD is proud to see an Indonesian girl on Teen Vogue’s Snapshot Blog. This 14 year old neng geulis was chosen as The Girl of The Week on October 2007. She lives in Bandung and loves Christopher Kane. Meet Mila Anzib ! If you want to know more about what she’s wearing, click here. Kudos to Mila for being on Teen Vogue.
Any FD-er wants to participate on Teen Vogue Snapshot Blog and be their “Girl of The Week”? Click here. You could also send your Today’s Outfit to Teen Vogue, and make FD proud… we never know =)

I don’t know why is it such a big deal for people to get into Teen Vogue’s girl of the week, basically all you need to get there is just a nice outfit, a cool pose, and non mundane looking photograph, as in her photo the newspapers speak it all ahaha. Nice penny loafers anyway.

cles: don’t be hating girl
originally i thought ppl would hv the same comment as yours, “why is it a big deal?” but in turns out everyone seems to be having such positive comments about Mila, which is encouraging.
I posted her, here in this blog just to inform everyone that there was actually a girl from our own country who MADE it as TV’s girl of the week. With all the negative comments that were made about our country in the past, I think Mila has contributed in rebuilding Indonesian image in a positive way through International fashion community, which is very very rare until today.
And perhaps, she would “educate” Teen Vogue (TV) readers and made them wonder, where is exactly Indonesia located? As you may also be aware, that not every young ppl esp here in the States, KNOW where Indonesia is. Maybe it’s not a big deal for you, but it sure was for her or everyone’s else, including myself.
Just to let u know, even here in the US, it IS a big deal to be featured in Teen Vogue not matter what you are, models, photographers, designers, upcoming designers, stylists, and even their regular readers.
I also posted her in this blog because FD has a regular thread in its forum, Today’s Outfit, where basically every members are sharing their best LOOK of the day, so maybe it would stimulate some of our young readers to send their photos to TV. Who knows they could be the next ones featured as TV’s girl of the week! Or maybe even yourself
I’m certain you have a great sense of style.
When Mila was posted as TV’s girl of the week, that specific column was still brand new, fresh from the oven, unlike today. And she was among the very first pick of TV’s girl of the week, so def it was quite an achievement. Because, I’m sure there were tons of photos sent by girls all over the world, with the exact EFFORTS as you mentioned above : “basically all you need to get there is just a nice outfit, a cool pose, and non mundane looking photograph, as in her photo the newspapers speak it all ahaha.” And yet, not all of ‘em were even chosen. There would definitely be a reason behind why Mila was picked, and why not someone else in that specific week =)
