Indonesian Fashion Spot!

Two weeks ago, on October 19, Karl Lagerfeld and Fendi held a monumental fashion show. Why was it a monumental? Because it was held in a monumental and historic landmark, The Great Wall of china. 88 models walked a runway of 88 meters long (8 is the lucky number in China), showing an expanded version of Fendi’s spring-summer collection. Total cost? $ 10 million, and it took a year to plan this event. The views from the shots are breathtaking , I bet it was a magical experience for the guests. East meets west at its truest sense..:D

Thanks for all the bloggers and FDers who’ve nominated us as one of the favorite blogs for the women’s issue category. Unexpectedly our beloved FashioneseDaily won the Favorite Blog Award for that category….hooraay! Also, thanks to our very own resident writer, dearest Ms. Koukla, for representing the FDers. Many thanks for everyone’s kind words and support in this Forum thread too.

The event, held at Blitz Megaplex, was Indonesia’s first blog mega-gathering attended by 500 bloggers and representing over 130.000 Indonesian bloggers. Now the event’s date, (October 27) has been officially designated as the Indonesian Blogger Day. I actually tried this primer a few weeks ago (Thanks DesZell for recommending it!) but with the whole Lebaran hoopla, getting back to work and other stuff, I just found time to write the review.

Makeup Forever has 7 different Makeup Base products that are intended to correct and improve the appearance of skin before makeup is applied. Neutral evens out skin tone and make foundation last longer, Green tones down redness, Mauve lights up muddy and sallow complexion, White enhances light-colored skin tone giving it a “porcelain look”, Apricot illuminates dark skin tone, Blue illuminates fair skin tone and diminishes slight redness, Yellow lightens dark complexions.

The liquid formula is quite moisturizing and feels similar to Paul & Joe primer, although this one has no pearl particle. It spreads easily and does make my liquid foundation blend well also giving it a nice, dewy finish. But the thing is, my oily face does not agree too well with products that produce dewy finish - before the end of the day, I could see some oily spots on my face from miles away. Yuck. However, I must admit that despite the unwanted shine, the foundation does last until way into the evening. I imagine this product will work brilliantly for people with dryer skin.

Btw I tried the Neutral and Mauve ones - the difference is hardly noticeable but the Neutral one does blend a little more easily and I got a little scared to see the purplish streak on my face

James just hit his legal age, but he already had that fancy Fashion Editor title to go along with his name. An accomplishment that can’t be ignored. Right now he is the Fashion Editor at SOAP Magazine, and still do some freelancing jobs for other magazines. He wrote a review about Biyan Fashion show not too long ago in FD. What were some of your first memories of fashion?

Yang gue inget itu, dari kecil gue udah selalu dimatching-in sama kakak gue! Udah berasa anak kembar. Nyokap gue kebetulan quite a fashion junkie, jadinya anaknya bisa dibilang kayak bonekanya dia gitu…especially me. Mungkin gara gara itu juga ketertarikan awal gue sama fashion dan sejak di elementary school me already want to be a fashion designer. Gue suka gambar some night gowns gitu lah….elegan elegan mewah gimanaa gitu…hahahaha..

Tell us about your very first photo shoot!

My 1st photo shoot as a stylist bisa dibilang gue lupa han yang mana, tapi kalo untuk yang di published itu kalo nggak salah waktu gue ngebantuin temen yang jadi kontributor untuk edisi ulang tahun A+ Magazine yang ke-6 (edisi June 2006). Temen gue itu fotografer majalah Free! Magz yang diminta untuk jadi salah satu fotografer untuk bikin foto dengan tema “Enam” .

Konsepnya sendiri hasil rembukan berdua, jadi dia came up with this main idea, dan gue yang ngembangin dan visualisasi-in. Modelnya senior gue di SMA yang mukanya emang unik, make-up nya gue turun tangan sendiri, untuk hair-do nya di kerjain temen gue yang saat itu lagi magang di majalah Dewi. Shotnya waktu itu lebih ke beauty shot dan accessorized with jewelry. Awalnya gue pengen minjem Heliopolis, tapi karena berujung ribet dan gak jelas, akhirnya gue beralih ke butik temen gue, dan gue ambil yang dari pearl and gold.

Dari beberapa shot, terpilih lah si Pearl Bracelet Watch from Anne Klein. Make-up nya sendiri yang agak aneh aneh gitu, Japanese Geisha look tapi gue tambahin 6 kristal-kristalan di bawah matanya. Make-up + hair donya sendiri udah sampe 2 jam lebih! Hahaha. . hasilnya yang keluar di A+ sendiri gue agak kurang suka karena hasil fotonya dieditnya lumayan gila dan make-upnya sendiri yang penuh perjuangan itu jadi gak begitu kelihatan. .thou it looks great, tapi mau diapain lagi toh? Terima sajalah. . oiyah it was called “Six Universe”.

Last night, the winners of Uncover/Discover Bioré + Gen Art 2007 were revealed at the Art Director’s Club, New York. Four winners of each category (fashion, film, music, art) were selected by a panel of industry experts. ARDISTIA has been chosen as the winner of the fashion category and she would receive a $ 20,000 grant, one year supply of Bioré Skincare products, and a Gen Art VIP membership package.
