While figuring out what to submit to Fashionese Daily last night, I remember my French VOGUE (VOGUE Paris) August 2007 issue that I bought at Borders earlier this month. I know it’s a bit too late but how on earth could I ever forget this? It is indeed a collectible edition, personally for myself and it is such a shame that it takes me so long to share it with you!
Being a huge fan of VOGUE Paris, I was completely stunned after seeing the quite controversial fashion spread portraying model Snejana Onopka as the beloved devil-in-chief, Anna Wintour. It was styled none other by the talented Carine Roitfeld, the editrix-in-chief of VOGUE Paris and photographed by the renowned photographer, Mario Testino, in a front-row setting where Wintour usually caught on camera.
L’Icône or The Icon was the title of the spread featuring model Snejana in Wintour-inspired look with her famous bang and narrow bob, big sunglasses, and of course, exposing her forbidden love affair with fur. I remember showing it to one of my friend, she even thought that it was the actual Anna Wintour looking years younger, and asked me whether she got a face lift! Even my hubby thought the same way..haha 
Anyway, kudos to Carine for successfully translating such brilliant ideas and always inspiring us with her incredible styling skills.
If Wintour and her team at American VOGUE would actually do a similar editorial to Mlle. Roitfeld, I wonder how it would turn out..

With wringkleless feature like that, she doesn’t need the big black sunglasses you know.

Gue juga liat ini nih Dys..kalo nggak salah, di majalahnya juga ada ngebahas tentang chanel ballet flats nggak sih, yang two tone gitu? gue penasaran banget pengen baca artikelnya tapi masa gue harus les Prancis dulu?..:D
Spread nya ini emang keren banget yah, tapi gue agak nggak ngerti dengan maksudnya..serius ngasih tribute gitu? Apa ada udang di balik batu nya? Atau malah nyindir si AW?..
Hanzky: iyaaa gw beli tuh selain gara2 spread si CR jg krn ada model carla bruni, hehe duh eike demen bangetss dulu…. skrg mana doi uda jd penyanyi bagus pula suaranya! kayaknya bkn tribute yah, semlm tak cek di majalahnya cm dibilang kira2x “inspired by AW’s chic, sophisticated, elegant style, a flawless taste that made her a reputation as the ed-in-chief of Vogue US” hanya mnurut gw personally, kali juga mau nyindir or nyentil dikit kali yaa?? hehe..selain CR jg lbh keren jauhh dr AW..well, we never know
iya sepatu2 ballerinas nya berjejeran gt yummy bangets.. itu kayaknya artikel celebrating 50 yrs anniversary of the classic two-tone chanel shoes yg uda melegenda.. dr ballerinas, pumps, mary-janes, booties, etc.. pingin nyari lagi skrg pdhal gw dulu sampe bela2in lho buat di perbanas pas jaman2 kuliah di jkt krn terinspirasi dr sepatu chanel ini jg, 2 pairs of mary-janes warna hitam dan beige sama hitam dan putih, uda gw kasi ke mbak gw bbrp thn lalu ;( yg asli chanel di toko bswank jg ada tuh, gw sempet fotoin hanya sayang size nya 6 ;( gw sampe bilang ini sayang banget utk consignment, kan bakal jd collectible items! ada si steve madden/steven two-tone gt bkn mary-janes tp kaya platform booties gt gw jg ga bisa make sehari2 pastinya cm bagus utk foto itu mah =(
gua suka banget nih idenya carine emang dahsyadd. gua rasa AW ga bakal tersingguh sih, mengingat foto2 nya itu keren2 skali.. snejana-nya cantik banget lagi.. hoho..
