Island Hopping

Michael Kors is releasing another limited-edition perfume, a newest addition to his Island series called Island Capri. The notes are sparkling orange bigarade, crisp green Italian basil, bergamot, rose petals, violet de parma, jasmine blossom and fig. The drydown will be olive tree accord, warm white moss and sensual skin accord. The fragrance will be sold in November.
Call me weird, but I actually didn’t like the first Michael Kors Island. It didn’t remind me of relaxing by the beach or swimming in tropical waters, it was just too heavy for any of that. There is no way I would wear something like that on a hot and humid day. The second one, Island Hawaii, is more in-sync with the name - with notes like Orange, Neroli, Clementine, Pineapple, Sambac Jasmine, Balsamic and White Amber. The jasmine note was dominant but I like it and it does have a holiday feel to it. It sort of reminds me of the exquisite resorts in Nusa Dua Bali. But unfortunately, Island Hawaii is not available in Indonesia (Don’t just hate it?)
I don’t know how Island Capri is going to smell like, but judging from its 2 earlier launches, I’m sure this one is gonna be another hit. People in the US seem to like the Island fragrances.
If you want to try the first Michael Kors Island, head to Seibu Grand Indonesia as that is the only store carrying that fragrance. It retails for Rp. 750.000 (100 ml).
