Saks Fifth Avenue New York flagship opened its new shoe floor moving up from the 4th floor to the 8th floor, last week on August 17, 2007. *on our Independance Day !* The new showroom will be filled with 100,000 pairs of designer shoes across the 10,000 sq. feet space and that’s approximately between 1,000 to 2,000 styles on display depending on the season.
The new floor will also have its very own zip code 10022-SHOE (endorsed by the US Postal Service), an express elevator, a Charbonnel et Walker chocolate café and a whole new VIP service; a VIP private shopping room with spacious seating and refreshments, and a massive shoe fitting room (!). An expert shoe repair and refurbishing service will be available on the same floor. And sales associates can also check inventories instantly from computer terminals located throughout the floor.
I guess it would be worth visiting knowing all the perks they’re offering. But personally, nothing beats its OFF 5th chain. It’s the discounted outlet version of Saks Fifth Avenue, they’re not only carrying items from past seasons but also, some from their current collection. Although the shoe section would be a total mess compared to the one at Saks Fifth flagship, but the excitement in getting any designer items at a fraction of their original price, is totally priceless!

I heard from my friend who works in Vogue NY
and some of the famous shoe designer all around
the globe that the huge shoe collectors is
comeing from Indonesia, ur country must be
really damn rich !!!, I wonder who that might
be. any clue of a name ?
hi stiletto ! WOW, nice to know that huge shoe collectors are actually coming from our beloved country! wish i can tell you some name(s) but unfortunately i hv no clue abt them! maybe, any FD readers would be able to help us out here??
all i know that Imelda Marcos is famous for her unbelievable shoe collection but she’s Filipina not Indonesian!
Eventhough Indonesia is still considered by some countries in the west, as a third world country/under developed country but filthy rich indonesians would actually be able to afford anything! *as you can see on our ‘Inside Her Bag’ special edition with a huge collection of HERMES!! BUT sadly, on the other hand, there are MANY Indonesians who are still living under poverty and struggling ;(
btw, who’s your friend at US Vogue? one of my boss used to work there tho’ … anw, thankss so much for visiting our blog, please keep on coming here =)
the owner of largest shoe collection like to shop in Shoecase , its an exclusive shoe shop for ManoloBlahnik,BrianAtwood,Vera Wang, in Indonesia
and she also register as no1 customer in Manolo store NY, as well as Jimmy Choo London, and Louboutin in Paris. my friend who is indonesian she told me when I meet her in London. and I heard she works for international organisation, hmmm I wonder what she do for liveing . any name that rings a bell ?
@stilletto: is she Nurma Musa/Anindya Hamengkubuwono IX? If there is an Indonesian who will have a large collection of shoes, i believe it is her.. One of the wives of Hamengkubuwono IX, former Vice President of Indonesia, and also the King of Yogyakarta.. She lives in Jakarta..
@stilletto: sorry, it should be Norma Musa or Nindyokirono Hamengkubuwono IX
