Wow, look what pregnancy can do to her. She looks healthy now, her bones have disappeared, her face is fuller, her boobs are growing and look at that cute baby bump!!. I think since she was so skinny to begin with, the extra weight during pregnancy creates a normal and healthy frame for her, whereas for most people, the extra weight wouldn’t be that nicely distributed. She is now four months into her pregnancy, and her style hasn’t disappoint. I’m curious to see what she’s going to wear when her belly is bigger. Her pregnancy (along with her DUI charge) seems to be a turning point in her life, and she is gaining more respect from people. I hope she stays this way and be a good mom when the baby is born.

Capitalizing on the success of previous years events, Bali will host the annual fashion showcase and trade event once again. The event, dubbed ‘Bali Fashion Week VII‘ will take place on November 22-25, 2007 at the Discovery Kartika Plaza Resort, Kuta, Bali.
Some of the agendas are FashiONthestreet, Fashion Talk Seminars and Discussion, Trade Show and Expos, Art and Fashion Performance, along with the International Designer’s Fashion Show highlighting the event. It will feature Bali’s prominent designers such as Oka Diputra, Putu Aliki, Muji Ananta, and Bintang Mira to name a few. The glamorous runway scene along with Bali’s vibrant art and culture creates an exotic balance of art and fashion unique to the industry. This year’s event, themed “Fashion Meets Art” will feature a wide variety of spontaneous and unexpected attractions, particularly through the street carnival. All the different elements of Bali Fashion Week is aimed to raise the profile of the many highly talented designers to be found in Bali and the rest of Indonesia. Bali fashion week is not just a celebration of fashion, but also serves as a means of boosting the economic potential of Bali, both as a tourism destination and as a place in which to do business.
Pioneered by Mrs. Ika Mardiana, an Indonesian born Hong Kong based designer, Bali Fashion Week has been highly successful in supporting Indonesia’s fashion industry, promoting it abroad and attracting the interest of many buyers, volunteers and media representatives and even participants from abroad, for more than seven years. Organized by Moda Bali Convex, the event has gained popularity year after year, evidenced by the growing number of participants. This year, it is expected that no less than 200 participants will take place in the event. “Everyone is now eager to take part in Bali Fashion Week”, she said. The participation of International Designers has encouraged a spirit of healthy competition, allowing local designers to better gauge global demand and tastes.
Bali Fashion Week will also feature competition to promote those new to the industry. Among them are ASIAN Student Fashion competition where fashion schools can send two of their fashion design students to participate in the competition. The Award Model Competition offers new models access into a professional model career as well as a look behind the scenes of what it is like on a daily basis for an aspiring or professional model, to give them a chance to be recognized and to break into the world class modeling. The winner for 07 Bali Fashion Week Models Award will have a chance to be invited to walk at the fashion show in the Hong Kong Fashion Week in January, 2008. Finally, the Fashion Photo Competition is seeking participant that brings a fresh photographic style to the fashion industry, fashion media, and captures the spirit and quality of Bali Fashion Week.
Bali Fashion Week is truly a well rounded fashion event. Bali’s impeccable venue creates an atmosphere unmatched in the industry. We will continue to follow on the progress and keep you updated on this special event.

While figuring out what to submit to Fashionese Daily last night, I remember my French VOGUE (VOGUE Paris) August 2007 issue that I bought at Borders earlier this month. I know it’s a bit too late but how on earth could I ever forget this? It is indeed a collectible edition, personally for myself and it is such a shame that it takes me so long to share it with you!
Being a huge fan of VOGUE Paris, I was completely stunned after seeing the quite controversial fashion spread portraying model Snejana Onopka as the beloved devil-in-chief, Anna Wintour. It was styled none other by the talented Carine Roitfeld, the editrix-in-chief of VOGUE Paris and photographed by the renowned photographer, Mario Testino, in a front-row setting where Wintour usually caught on camera.
L’Icône or The Icon was the title of the spread featuring model Snejana in Wintour-inspired look with her famous bang and narrow bob, big sunglasses, and of course, exposing her forbidden love affair with fur. I remember showing it to one of my friend, she even thought that it was the actual Anna Wintour looking years younger, and asked me whether she got a face lift! Even my hubby thought the same way..haha
Anyway, kudos to Carine for successfully translating such brilliant ideas and always inspiring us with her incredible styling skills.
If Wintour and her team at American VOGUE would actually do a similar editorial to Mlle. Roitfeld, I wonder how it would turn out..

When I first saw Marc Jacobs spring 2006 runway in fashion magazine, I thought, “What was in Marc Jacobs’ mind to combine tops with tight aerobics pants?” Then, I saw Madonna wore legging with designer outfits in magazine
(Isn’t she first wore this legging thing in “Desperately Seeking Susan” movie with headband and wrist band?). This thought suddenly came into me “Every fashion piece has its cycle! Fashion is investment!”
Decades ago (in 1980’s I guess), young women wore leggings to be provocative and sexy with high heels, leather jackets, big curly hair, and big earrings. Today, every designer shows leggings on the runway. They are combined with tunics, dresses, and mini skirts.
I, who first think legging as aerobic pants, have bought several black leggings. I love to combine it with mini dress. But, I prefer to call legging as fashion defense. If your skirt is too short, wear leggings. If your bruises haven’t disappeared, wear leggings. If you’re cold in your 15۫-air-conditioned office, wear leggings. If you are bothered that you forgot to shave, wear leggings. And after all, legging gives you slimmer look to your legs. Legging can be wear sophisticatedly or casually. Combination of legging and high waist pencil skirt with simple cardigan and peep toe heels would make a totally sophisticated yet appropriate outfit to office. While for weekend casual lunch or barbecue party, combination of legging and summer dress or flirty feminine dress with flats sandals or flip flop would make a perfect chic look.

The newest addition from their Prep + Prime family turns out to be a real star! MAC Prep+Prime Skin Refined Zone is a lightweight, oil-free, soy-based lotion that gives you a matte finish once applied on the skin. According to the product knowledge, this primer can make your pores appear smaller and even unclogs them over time. I don’t know about the long-term effect but it does sort of create a “barrier” between my rather large pores and the foundation so when I apply the foundation, it does not sit on the pores but glides perfectly on top of them! Me likey!
The lasting power is considerably better than the first Prep + Prime. I did have to blot my face with a tissue once in the afternoon but there wasn’t any visible melting or cracking. I really like the mattefying effect that sometimes I’d wear it without any foundation so just the primer and powder on top and I could still achieve the flawless look.
Prep + Prime Skin Refined Zone is available in any MAC counter for Rp. 188.000
Tips : To use this primer you actually have to wait until they dry before putting on anything on top because when first applied it feels a bit wet. But don’t worry, it’s not gonna be long and the drydown will give your skin a smooth & silky feeling.
