Allure June 07 has hit newsstand! (Udah lama sih sebenernya, gue aja yang baru beli, hihihi. )
Allure is one of my most favorite magazines. When I only have a budget to buy one magazine, the choice is always Allure. Even though lately I can find many product info from the internet, I still like to read this magazine for its other articles. I’ve found many inspirations for makeup and hair from their spreads. Fashionwise, Allure is also very stylish yet relatable.
Anyway, one of the features that I most look forward to is their Readers’ Choice Awards. Every year, Allure asked its readers to submit recommendations of their most favorite products from different catagories (lipstick, eyeliner, blush, body scrub, etc) and naturally products that get the most votes win the awards. This year, I am thrilled to find that some of my favorite products win the reader’s choice awards. Here are some of the winners and my comments :
Best Lipstick
Drugstore : L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Lipcolour in Sugar Plum
Dept. Store : MAC Lipstick in Viva Glam V – I wholeheartedly agree with this choice. I love Viva Glam V, it is the perfect nude color that works on every skin tone. I am actually wearing it today.
Best Blush
Drugstore : Cover Girl Cheekers Blush in Natural Twinkle
Dept Store : Nars Blush in Orgasm – Hmm, I don’t know about this one. I’ve heard so much about this blush for the past few years and when I finally tried it on, I must say I was disappointed. It looked orange on me.
Best Eyeshadow
Drugstore : Revlon ColorStay 12 Hour Eyeshadow Quad in Neutral Khakis – It’s been a long time since the last time I bought Revlon eyeshadows, but the colors on the picture look nice. Maybe I should check it out sometimes.
Dept. Store : MAC Eyeshadow in All That Glitter – I don’t know if they have this shade in Indonesia. But from the picture, it looks similar to Sable, which is a great ‘safe’ color if you don’t want anything too noticeable.
Best Eyeliner
Drugstore : Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner in Black Brown
Dept. Store : MAC Fluidline Eyeliner Gel in Blacktrack – Must agree. This eyeliner has a great staying power too.
Best Mascara
Drugstore : Maybelline New York Great Lash Mascara – No surprise there. Maybelline does make great mascaras.
Dept. Store : Lancome Definicils High Definition Mascara – This is on my must-try list!
Best Concealer
Drugstore : Maybelline New York Cover Stick Concealer – I wanna try this too!
Dept. Store : MAC Select Moisturecover – Again, I agree. This is one of my most favorite MAC concealers beside Studio Finish.
Foundation
Drugstore : L’Oreal Paris True Match Super Blendable Make Up – I have heard so much about it and I find it interesting it wins this award. Is it really that good? Can anyone confirm?
Dept. Store : Bare Escentuals bareMinerals Foundation SPF 15 –
Maybe Hanzky should comment on this once since I haven’t tried it 
But anyway, I’m not surprised this foundation was chosen since it seemed to create such a huge buzz since it launched.Facial Moisturizer
Drugstore : Olay Total Effects 7x Visible Anti-Aging Vitamin Complex
Dept. Store : Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion – Nuff said!

Btw, I tried Bare Escentual mineral foundation. Yang ada malah jadi jerawat gede2… padahal kan janjinya sama sekali nggak menimbulkan iritasi. Setelah browsing kanan kiri, ternyata ada juga kok orang2 yg kulitnya malah bereaksi dgn mineral itu, konon karena mengandung cobalt atau mineral apa gitu…. Dan coverage-nya juga nggak terlalu bagus sih menurut gue, sebentar juga udah keapus. Akhirnya si Bare Escentual gue balikin deh…

setuju sama bareMinerals Foundationnya!!..I have converted quite a few people since I’ve tried this product..:D…lebih bagus lagi kalo semua step nya di ikutin, dari mulai vitamin lotion – foundation – all over face color – mineral veil. don’t forget to swirl swirl and swirl…:D
