My heart broke when I received the news from Estee Lauder that they will not be carrying Azuree Soleil Eau Fraiche Skinscent in Indonesia

 If you remember this post, then you’d know that I am crazy about their Azuree Body Oil that was part of the Tom Ford collection for Estee Lauder last year. I was so excited when I heard that they made a perfume version of this oil and I waited hopefully but turned out, I was waiting in vain.

I guess I would have to turn to eBay to buy this perfume (and body oil and body lotion!) because I am pretty sure it’s sold out everywhere in the US (if I were to ask a friend abroad to buy it) considering it has been launched there since April.

Anyway, while I drown myself in my misery (cieh, drama abis) you guys should probably check out the makeup range of this year’s Azuree collection, coming up next month to Indonesia. The Bronzee look consists of interesting products in gorgeous bronze shades that might just cheer me up a little.

Anybody wants to buy me The Sunbronzer and put a smile back on my face?

Here’s another reason to go to the newly-opened Seibu : to buy Harnn & Thann products! Arriving from the land of cheap clothes and amazing food, Thailand, Harnn & Thann is a natural Spa and body care brand now available in 30 countries, with a distinct Asian-inspired characteristic. The spa opened in Senayan Arcadia last year - if I’m not mistaken - while the counter that offers many bath and body products is located in Seibu.

 While I have yet to try the spa, visiting Harnn & Thann counter has left a great impression on me. Upon walking into the space, I felt like I was in some upscale spa with rows and rows of great-smelling products to try!

Harnn & Thann products all use natural ingredients and those amazing scent you smell from them are all-natural and contain no artificial fragrance. I particularly love their Sea Foam and Rice Extract range (Shower Gel, Body Milk, Salt Scrub, etc). They also have hair care and home aromatherapy products. I also found their natural soap bars - which were displayed in cute glass cookie jars - to be highly irresistable because they all smell fantastic! From Cinnamon, Clove, Lemongrass, Red Rice, White Rice, Black Rice and many more - I felt like I wanted to take everything home. And at Rp. 35,000 / piece - these soap bars are a steal!

Anyway, I showed amazing self-control (ahem) and managed to only buy 2 products - the Lemongrass soap bar and Rice Extract body milk with matching scent. I thought their price is very affordable for such high-quality products. The body milk has a light texture that absorbs to the skin almost immediately leaving no sticky residue while the soap bar contains small grains that makes it perfect if you want a light scrub all over. And I could just go on and on about the smell. You know the Lemongrass iced tea they serve you at Thai or Vietnamese restaurants? Both of these products smell exactly like that. Zesty, fresh and perfect to be used on a sunny morning.

I guess either the weather is unbelievably hot today or I’m just out of style (aren’t hot pants out of season already? or is it back on again?)…cuz I’ve been seeing people wearing hot pants like this all over Orchard road today. Most of them, i understand, are tourists… who are spending their vacation during the great Singapore sale. Though hot pants quite comfortable during hot weather (Though i wonder why wear black then?), I don’t think anyone can get away with this look
easily. I guess you just have to be pretty confident to let it fly. What do you think of this look?

Tema yang di usung adalah “I Am What I am”, terinspirasi dari judul dan syair lagu yang di nyanyikan oleh Gloria Gaynor. Pernyataan tersebut di harapkan mewakili kebebasan siswa siswi nya untuk dapat berkreasi dan menonjolkan karakter serta ciri chas masing masing murid tanpa ada nya batasan.

Amid all the ’summery’ makeup ads on magazines, I was quite intrigued to see Revlon coming up with a limited edition collections that has a sultry, mysterious, rather dark visual - usually seen during Fall & Winter. Moreover, the items on the collection seem exciting enough to deserve a trip to Revlon’s nearest counter even though I haven’t used any of their products (except their nail polishes) in like forever.

Anyway, I went to Seibu a few days ago and loo and behold, there was a Revlon counter there! It’s natural to wonder of course, what’s a mass-produced cosmetic brand doing in an upscale dept. store like Seibu? But the question was instantly removed from my head as soon as I saw the displayer for the Limited Edition Collections. I was pleased to find that they carry the whole range of products - usually there are always products that are not available in Indonesia, don’t you just hate it? - and all of them are imported from USA, unlike most Revlon products that are manufactured locally. I managed to play with some products and here’s what I think of them :

Midnight Swirl Lip Lustre
Basically a lipgloss but added with black pearl to create a low-lit effect on lips. The texture is a bit sticky but feels wonderful once applied on the lips. The ‘port wine’ scent is heavenly too! Don’t be intimidated by the dark colors because they’re actually quite sheer once applied. I love the Cran-Tilly Lace shade!

 Sugar Sugar Lip Topping
This is one item in the collection that I was most curious about. Icing for your lips? Sounds wonderful right? The product is similar to loose powder (with shimmer) and comes in a tiny plastic bottle. I tried it on top of the Lip Lustre and was disappointed to see that instead of creating a ‘crystal-cut faceted effect’ as promised, it sort of made my lips looked dusty. The shimmer just wasn’t as ‘brilliant’ as what the ad showed. To me, this just seemed like another ‘gimmicky’ product that doesn’t really do anything amazing.

Pinch Me Sheer Gel Blush
I actually wanted to laugh when I squirted this product from the pump and found that the texture was exactly like…strawberry jam! I kid you not! Anyway, I’ve tested several gel blush before and I must say this isn’t the best you can find. The color is too sheer and doesn’t show on my skin at all.

Diamond Lust Sheer Shadow
Very finely-milled and contains loads of shimmering goodness! This one surely can compete with products from higher-end brands in its ability to make your eyes sparkle. Comes in 8 sheer shades that are all so beautiful. My favorite is Lavender Unleashed and Champagne Buzz (can be used as a great highlighter too!)

Molten Metal Liquid Shadow
Why oh why did I buy this product? Oh I know, because I was shopping with my husband and he asked me to go home every 5 freakin’ minutes! Molten Metal comes in a dual-phase formula - pearlized pigment and clear liquid that you must shake before use. When I first tried it on the back of my hands, it felt cool and the color and the shimmer was quite vivid (must be the lighting, hmpppft). My biggest mistake was I didn’t try it on my eyes and I should’ve, because when I wore it the next day, it was a ‘molten mess’. The color didn’t show - mine was perplexingly called ‘Platinum Pinup” but when I checked it out on the website, Platinum Pinup is a completely different shade. Mine, I think, should be either Bronze Bomber or Copper Crush. Anyway, what was worse was that it had a terrible staying power. It creases almost immediately after I put it on, and after 2 hours, I could hardly see any product left. What a waste of money *sniff*

Anyway, these are just some of the products available in this collection. I am planning to go back and try other products especially the Bare It All Lustrous Lotion and Lash Jewels. Or maybe you’ve tried these products and would like to share your thoughts? Please do!

Di majalah Lucky edisi Juli ada beberapa tips mengenai cara memilih atasan bermodel halter. Berguna juga nih tipsnya, jadi kita tahu gimana menutupi kekurangan dan menonjolkan kelebihan yang ada..;)

Small Bust: Untuk yang ukuran dada nya kecil, pilih tali nya yang agak lebar untuk memberi ilusi dada yang besar. Tapi jangan terlalu lebar sampai menutupi apa yang udah hampir nggak ada itu..hehe. Tali nya juga lebih bagus yang pas di bawahnya ada di sisi paling luar, jadi bisa sedikit mengangkat and give them a fuller look.
Large Bust: Nah kalo yang ukuran dada nya udah besar sebaiknya pakai yang agak tertutup, supaya nggak terlalu vulgar. Caranya, pilih halter yang lehernya berbentuk V dan lebar tali nya. Kalo V neck kan pas di bawahnya nutupin belahan, jadi fokusnya nggak ke situ. Unless, that’s what you want to show off..hehe… Broad Shoulder: Kalo punya bahu yang lebar pilih yang model ‘plunging neckline’ yang terbuka memanjang sampai ke tengah. Maksudnya untuk memberi balance pada bahu nya yang lebar, jadi badannya kelihatan lebih panjang. Bagus juga kalo dibagian tengahnya ada ruffles, atau pita2 serta detil lain yang supaya fokusnya tetap di tengah.

Narrow shoulder: Untuk yang pundaknya kecil, pake tali nya di sarankan yang tipis supaya bahu nya nggak tambah ketutupan dan jadi tambah keliatan kecil. Tali nya juga di cari yang agak di tengah supaya daerah baju dan sekitarnya terlihat lebih lebar.

Pasti sering denger kan semboyan di atas ini? Sebuah pesan moral yang di ciptakan oleh Just Another Fool untuk mengajak kita menghargai karya cipta para blogger. Saya sendiri nge blog dari tahun 2000, dan sempat beberapa kali di copy paste apa yang saya tulis, belum lagi image nya sampai layoutnya. Tapi karena dulu blog nya hanya untuk konsumsi pribadi dan memang nggak banyak yang baca, jadi ya udah lah biarin aja. Kalo sekarang sih pasti nya kesal juga kalo ada yang copy paste artikel dari sini. This site is our contribution to Indonesia fashion scene, it takes time and effort to write all of the articles that’s written here, to update it and to maintain it daily and to make it what it is. Jadi kita akan sangat berterima kasih kalau apa yang sudah kita tulis di sini di hargai dan di cantumkan sumber nya kalau ada yang berminat untuk mengutip.

Coba check Friendster blog ini. Di situ ada dua postingan dari sini yang asal copy paste, judulnya aja yang di tambahin sedikit. Check juga di bagian review nya, ada dua review buku dari sini yang juga dicopy. Dari huruf pertama sampai huruf terakhir semuanya sama. Palingan cuma beberapa kata yang di hapus sedikit. Kaget juga pas liat, tapi saya masih berpikir positif bahwa mungkin dia mencantumkan Fashionese Daily sebagai sumbernya di baris paling bawah atau nyempil di tengah tengah. Tapi ternyata tidak ada sama sekali, jadi seolah olah 4 postingan itu adalah tulisannya. Dan ironisnya, yang meng copy paste itu seorang Jurnalis yang bekerja di majalah Passion dan meng-klaim diri nya sebagai seorang creative writer.

Bulan lalu juga ada yang email ke saya dan bilang kalo dia pernah baca tulisan yang berjudul Fashions Fade, Style Is Eternal di sebuah Free Magazine ibukota. Katanya sih artikelnya 100% sama, tapi sayang dia lupa majalahnya apa karena bacanya di salon dan dia visitor baru di sini, jadi dia baca artikel nya di majalah itu duluan daripada di sini. Nah, yang seperti ini juga yang kita nggak mau terjadi, takutnya malah kita yang di kira asal jiplak seenaknya.

Mungkin udah saatnya kita pasang disclaimer ya. Apalagi, di harapkan nanti nya ada yang menyumbang tulisan tulisannya di sini, jadi kita merasa perlu melindungi karya mereka juga. Copy Paste nggak di larang dan bahkan kita memperbolehkan media untuk reprint atau republish apa yang ada di sini, but please, give credit where credit is due!.

Tentu nya ini adalah sebuah peringatan juga buat kita semua untuk lebih menyadari bahwa apa yang kita temukan di internet ini ada pemiliknya, kalau kita tau siapa pemiliknya, sudah kewajiban kita untuk mencantumkannya. Dan barang siapa yang asal copy paste artikel dari sini, akan di hadiahi sebuah postingan spesial tentang ‘karya’ nya!!…..and it’ll be here forever….

or at least until we can’t make the hosting payment anymore…:D
