Drenched In Aqua

I’m currently obsessed with Aqua eyeshadow. It’s the perfect summer shade if you want a change from bronze or taupe.
Today, I’m wearing my MAC Turquatic eyeshadow – it’s a gorgeous aqua shade with loads of silver pearl – which I got last year and is unfortunately a limited shade. They 
have a similar shade in the regular eyeshadow line called Aquadisiac, however it comes in Lustre formula and I am just not a fan of it. It is too sheer and no matter how much pressure I put on my brush, I couldn’t seem to get the color shown on my eyes and it also doesn’t stick on the skin very well. But worry not, because I have found some other cool Aqua shades from other brands in a variety of texture and formula and here are some of my favorites :

But worry not, because I have found some other cool Aqua shades from other brands in a variety of texture and formula and here are some of my favorites :- Shiseido Hydro Powder Shadow in Aqua Shimmer (I have yet to try this formula, but some beauty junkies have been raving about it on their blogs so this will be my next purchase when I come to the Shiseido counter)
- Paul & Joe Eye Gloss # 04 (This brand has one of the cutest packaging I’ve ever seen!)
- Dior 5 Coleur Shadow in Seascape (It also comes with 4 other fab colors that you can mix with the aqua shade)
- Bloom Eye Paints in Sage and Eyeshadow in Azure (The Eye Paints formula looks like it’s easy to mess it up, but the color is pretty)
This rather shocking color is actually very easy to wear. The trick is to make it sheer so you need to blend really well. I applied the shadow on my lid and I blended upwards – creating a semi-transparant wash of color. On my browbones, I just put a vanilla-colored shadow to highlight. That’s it. I don’t mix it with other colors because I want the aqua to stand out. Then I added a coat of dark brown mascara, a shimmery peach blush (This looks more natural on me than a bronzer since I’m very fair), finished with a pinkish coral gloss – and voila! The perfect beachy, summery look! The model on the above picture shows that this shade also works on girls with darker complexion. I am so loving the healthy, sun-kissed rosy cheeks on that fabulously tanned complexion. And I wish I looked that great in a gold halter top 
If you’re still intimidated by the color, the alternative is to use an aqua eye pencil. Just draw a line above your upper lashline and on your bottom lashline so you get just a hint of color. Try MAC Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Out To Sea or Makeup Forever Aqua Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil in #07L

Bener bgt deh gue memang masih ter intimidasi sama warna ini, kesannya kaya mau ke disko kalo gw pake tebel2..tp kalo tipis2 jd nya malah ga kliatan.
This reminds me that I need a new eyeshadow palette. Iya harus palette, I’ve never bought a single color eyeshadow, soalnya lebih mahal kan dan lagian nggak ngerti juga gabunginnya sama warna apa, heheh. Waktu itu ada yang gue mau dari Bobbi Brown, kaya yang surf and sand ini tapi nggak ada warna biru2 nya sih. Btw, yang ini di gloss.com juga udah sold out tuh..heheh….
Contrary to what you say about Aquadisiac, I love mine so much that I actually have 2 of them. I always received compliments whenever I wore them and my friends told me that its the nicest color that they’ve ever seen. Altough they didnt believed me when I show them the eyeshadow pot, because the color is just too bright.
Kayaknya sih setelah lama pake Aquadisiac, kuncinya adalah nemuin eyeshadow yang match dikombinasiin. Biasanya aku akan combine dengan Nylon for the whole lid and then put Aquadisiac just on the ourter corner, if you want more torquise then put it more on the crease. Bone in shimmer from Bobbi Brown should be a great combo for the turquoise color too. Lustre eyeshadow works best with the Veluxe Pearl or Satin IMHO.
If you’re being adventorous try to pair it with Gold or Blue, from MAC I usually used Goldmine or Freshwater. It actually looked gramorous.
Ada yang pernah coba night cream nya la mer gal? kata nya bagus banget ya dan jadi favorite nya selebriti….pengen nyoba deh tapi takut gak cocok..sayang kan secara harganya cukup bikin gue susah tidur kalo sampe gak cocok…^0-0^

I do love the color of Aquadisiac eyeshadow, what I don’t like is the formula (lustre). I have 3-4 shades in this formula and they ended up at the back of my makeup drawer because they’re quite tricky to use. The color won’t show on my skin and because I have oily skin (including the skin around my eyes) the products just won’t stick. The only way I can get it to show and stick, is when I use eyeshadow primer underneath (like MAC Prep + Prime Eye). Turquatic eyeshadow, the one I’ve been using, has almost exactly the same color as Aquadisiac but it’s in Velvet formula which has a better color payoff. But every skin condition is different so I guess that’s why Lustre eyeshadows look good on you and not me (I’m actually jealous because there are lots of cute colors in this formula!)
Btw, the aqua + gold combo is a good idea! I’m trying it on today and received lots of compliments…thanks, Dreszell!

Saya juga belum pernah nyoba tuh produk2nya La Mer. You’re right, it’s too expensive untuk sekedar nyoba2. My only suggestion is, nanti kalo counternya udah buka di Seibu, coba minta sedikit sample dari beauty consultant-nya, untuk dibawa pulang dan dicoba. That way, you don’t have to spend tons of money on a product that might not even be right for your skin. Kalo brand2 bagus biasanya mau kok ngasih sample sedikit.
eye shadow palette bobbi brown ada dijual di SQ (on board) deh…so, travelling aja kemana gt, biar bisa beli ginian..hihihi =).
Koukla you are rite, the lustre formula is the worst among the MAC e/s, the only exception for me is Aquadisiac.
BTW I saw the BB pink face palette on board for only $65
