Koukla in Face Escentials — April 29th, 2007

People magazine’s 18th annual special issue featuring “100 Most Beautiful Stars” of 2007 has hit newsstand last Friday. Drew Barrymore, who’s recently been named Cover Girl’s newest spokesperson, graces the cover as well as being included in one of the 11 stars photographed without makeup for this issue.

Of course, this particular article is made to make us - mere mortals - feel even worse about ourselves. I mean, look at her.

Kidding. But she does look radiant even without any makeup on, doesn’t she? Here’s another gorgeous one who looks just as good bare-faced (if not better) compared to when she’s all done up.

Yup, that’s American Idol season 5’s runner up Katherine McPhee. Don’t you just want to kill yourself now? Hahaha, kidding..again.

Anyway, the other stars who pose with bare faces in this issue are Jessica Biel, Jessica Simpson, Jessica Alba, Rashida Jones (from the show The Office), etc. It’s interesting to finally see how these beautiful girls look when their skin is not covered (you can clearly see the freckles in Jessica Biel’s nose), their eyebrows are not groomed, blemishes not hidden (hello Rachel Bilson’s birthmark!), lashes not curled and other steps that they skipped for this photo shoot. There is also something beautiful about the stripped-down, unglamorous sides that these stars showed in front of the camera that they look almost vulnerable. Like Miss Longoria in this picture.

I applaud them for doing such gutsy move with these pictures. I tried going to work without any makeup on today and I only lasted until lunch time. I took a peek at my reflection from the mirror and before I could say au naturale, I reached for my lip balm, primer, eyelash curler and blush. That’s it. That’s the most ‘no makeup’ I could ever muster.

Gile…eva longoria n drew barrymore gak ada matinya hehe..umur dah tua..tapi face nya…gak ada wrinkle gitu..apa sih rahasianya hheheehe.

Pasti foto foto nya ada yang di airbrush atau di photoshop deh.. so there’s a good chance that they don’t look that good in real life..LOL..ngareeeppp!!!.

it seems that she had a bit of eye shadow on her eyes

oh iya di film the holiday itu..ada juga yang cameron diaz nya nggak pake make up dan keliatan sekali tua nya yaa. kulit muka nya nggak plump lagi dan keriputnya juga nyata banget..huhuhu…what am i gonna do when that happened to me?…botox, anyone?..:D

Chikka, they can afford the best skincare, dermatologist, trainer, etc…tentunya gampang bagi mereka utk keliatan secantik itu!

Lolita, bener juga sih. Kalo gue liat2 foto2 yang lain kayak Jessica Biel, Jessica Simpson, dll - keliatannya emang pasti di-retouch biar sedikit2 juga. And the lighting helps too!

Dwd, nggak tau juga ya, but she is that pretty sih menurut gue..I remember watching her on American Idol all the while thinking “Ni orang kok cantik bgt sih, sialan!” (Loh?) hehehe

Hanzky, well count yourself lucky that you don’t have to be in front of the camera all the time when you reach Cameron Diaz’ age!

btw, miss jones itu namanya rashida bukan radisha.. hehehehehehehe…

kayaknya mereka dalam kehidupan nyata juga nggak secantik itu soalnya kalau si eva longoria ada foto di people nggak pake make-up nggak secantik fotonya di people, tapi mungkin nggak flattering karena yang foto paparazzi..

kyknya ga pake make-up deh, soalnya Rachel Bilson aja masih keliatan frecklesnya

I think diantara 10 orang itu paling FRESH si Rachel, hahaha.. klo poto item-putih sih Jessica Alba keren.

oh! teteup.. ada trik khusus utk retouch photoshop dgn tangan ‘ringan’ supaya masih beleivable ampe keliatan frekkles dan membuat org percaya kl itu ga tersentuh, pdhl.. tersentuh sangat… bahkan lebih retouched dibanding yang bener” keliatan blurry n fake. org” yg punya skill retouch computer kayak gini ini yg paling mahal ongkosnya

jadi.. gw ngga percaya deh kl udah ampe diterbitin majalah. yg gw percaya tuh kl liat file asli mentah foto” pracetak kyk dr sipa press..
