what’s on your back pocket?

premium denim is so worth it, once your butt has been hugged by a really great fitting pair of jeans, there’s no going back to the Gap
hihihi, it’s a title from an article i read a while ago but now i forgot where i read it from, i’m sorry i couldn’t give proper credit…but i posted it anyway cause i thought that’s pretty funny..:-). i’ve been looking for a pair of straight-leg jeans lately..but still don’t know which one i want, the clean and crisp looking no logo back pocket? the one with flap back pockets? or the one with embroidered or crystallized back pockets? the one with the zipper at the ankles? there’s too many to choose..=).
this, however, gets me wondering if anyone is obsessed with the design of the back pockets. i mean, of course the distinct design of the back pockets is one of the reasons why people are willing to pay the extra money, right? would i have paid that much if my rock and republic doesn’t come with the signature R stitching on the back pockets? i don’t think so..heheh. but surely that’s not the main reason, i wouldn’t buy it if it doesn’t fit me nicely. my friend thought i was crazy when i bought my earnest sewn jeans that has clean looking pocket, well actually the stitches in the corner slanted a little bit, it’s not flashy at all..but she thought what’s the point of buying expensive jeans if people can’t tell it from a mile away?..hehe, but i’m not trying to impress anyone, so it doesn’t matter if people know or not..besides, those in the know would know you know??..:D. i got to be honest though, it’s becoming a habit for me to look at other people’s behind to see what kind of design they have down there..i know nggak penting banget yaa. tapi emang udah kebiasaan, sama kaya dulu 
waktu smp/sma kalo terima kartu ulang taun atau kartu apa aja pasti deh langsung di balik untuk di liat merknya apaan, hallmark/shoebox, american greetings, etc?..hehehe. tapi kayanya sih, the newer denim lines come with sleeker looking design ya kaya, plain and simple kaya J Brand, acne jeans, superfine soalnya kebanyakan kan skinny jeans, jelek kalo keramean and it’s fall when people mostly wear dark colors, lagian kalo jeans yang nggak banyak embelishmentnya lebih bisa di dress it up.
so, does the pocket design matter for you? how much are you willing to pay for that perfectly cut and washed jeans? do you think it’s worth it to pay three digits for a pair of jeans?. i had never thought that jeans could be such a fashion staple, that was until i found the world of premium denim jeans. dulu pertama tau ya apalagi kalo bukan seven for all mankind, waktu keluar kan taun 2000, but i didn’t find out about it until 2002, heheh..heyy i lived in a small college town where express was the most fashion forward brand..:D. now jeans have become the little black dress for me (cause i don’t even own a black dress..;p), i could dress it up and dress it down depending on the occassion. ternyata memang beda yaa..the look and the cut is different, they are much more flattering, the quality is higher too.. that’s why i can totally justify the price. pilihannya jelas lebih banyak dari mulai modelnya sampe efek washing/finishingnya, ada yang pake chemical, stone-washing, sand-blasting, whiskering and baking. most of the sewing is done by hand. materialnya juga beda, they usually use import fabric from japan and italy, where the world’s best denim are, jadi nggak losing shape/becoming saggy after a few hours of wearing. i’ve tried many of the high street jeans like gap, old navy, banana republic, j-crew, express, etc..so believe me, i can tell difference..but if you can’t tell the difference and you look good in your target jeans than wow..lucky you cause that means you can have more funds for other things..=)

Wah2 pas bgt! I have the last two! LOL. Seven jeans tp abal2, beli di FO2 bandung. mayan lah quality nya, mirip2 yg asli jg hehehe :p

iya katanya banyak ya yang abal abal di bandung gitu dev? emangnya ada merk apa aja dan berapaan harganya? Kalo memang mau pake yang abal abal sih mendingan beli di bandung yaa..pastinya murah meriah, soalnya kalo yang di ebay juga biar palsu tapi kan di bilangnya authentic..jadi harganya juga udah $70 an gitu lah..

i agree. no more going back to the gap for me too, dan setelah di pikir, ternyata malah lebih hemat beli designer jeans, karena gue jadi nggak perlu nyoba nyoba atau beli jeans lagi tiap ke mall, ngeliat aja udah males..udah puas deh punya citizens of humanity sama seven serta antik, walaupun cuma 3 tapi berharga semua dan bener bener kepake!!

ha! soal pocket design, me too..so busy body observing org2 punya pocket design. dulunya sih ga ngeh en ga peduli, cuma krn di’indoktrin’ sama temen ku disini, kl yang ini pocketnya bagus gini gitu, so everytime people passing by in front of me, gw pasti perhatiin..berikut merknya…huehuehue…

laughing out loud reading this one.. =) i even pass my knowledge in recognizing jeans from the back pockets to my bf, sometimes i even quiz him when we walk among the crowd.. haha
*how insane!* and for sure i couldnt go back to unknown jeans.. even levi’s or guess or any mass retailer brands.. it’s a BIG NO NO for me.. im willing to go an xtra mile for my jeans & handbags.. but im totally flexible with shoes n outfits & undies, they dont hv to b designer ones as long as they r comfy n suit my style. Jerome dahan is a genius to create those jeans altho i hate his seven’s A pocket, i dunno i just dont like them..id still prefer the original swirl stiches or the 7 dojo line. other than that, nothing could go wrong with citizen of humanity esp for me who have curvy hips, i luv yanuk, true religion’s not bad..habitual, tsubi or evisu.. n there’s this brazilian denim brand, parasuco or sumthing i forgot, they’re not bad.. ms. 60 n diesel r always timeless of course, worth investing them! for skinny jeans, im glad i keep my oldschool sergio valente, they’re really good if u hv curve, i dunno if they still hv the model now.. well anw, im bragging too much… =)

eh..emang sih jeans is good investment hehee..buat gue loh. tapi bukan berarti yg branded. susah loh nyari jeans yg ngepas banget buat body kita. kalo gue sih begitu. herannya kok gue selalu cocoknya ama Guess yah jeansnya? althou i dont really like Guess brand, tapi kalo jeansnya selalu ngepas di gue. jadinya gue selalu beli disitu han.
gue kemaren ini ke fj’l nyari jeans2 yg laen nyobain satu persatu, gila dari rock&republic, seven, victoria beckham, etc duh semua deh…tapi gak ada yg cocok cutnya. tapi dapet sih satu cuma sizenya gak ada :(( menyebalkan. i’m willing more dollars for a jeans if i can get the right one. soalnya susah sih gue dapetin yg ngepas ama gue. kalo gak salah yg gue cobain itu wimbledon stretch, ingrid flare…dpt in dimana yah han? heheheh…
di ebay byk yg palsu ya? suseh juga tuh ya. how can u tell the difference?

anonymous: heheh..did your bf aced the quiz?..:D. same for me here, i will go the extra miles for my jeans and handbags (but my collection is still very humble though). yes agree jerome dahan is indeed a genius, his brand has withstood all of these crazy denim competition and most of the fashion editors are still wearing coh. i’m liking their skinny/straight leg, and the marine national denim now. i like yanuk too, their jeans somehow have this tough look on them, same with taverniti so, if i’m not mistaken they are made by the same company. i saw review about a few brazilian denims in november lucky, have to check them out. btw, do you know any online store that carry sergio valente??

ella: iya la emang good investment kok cause they last a looong time, much much longer than any of our tops/bottoms deh asal nggak fluctuate aja berat badannya..hehe. tapi memang jeans itu cocok cocokan…makanya biar dapet di mana juga kalo udah cocok ya udah..otu aja terus. masa sih elo susah la cari yang pas? elo kan badannya seperti model bukan?..hehehe, kayanya nggak susah gitu kalo nyari.
di ebay banyak banget yang palsu, banyakan yang palsu nya daripada yang aslinya. kalo dari foto agak susah sih soalnya banyak yang naro foto asli, tapi kalo yang taro actual product ya keliatan deh dari detilnya. trus misalnya udah di tangan juga wahh berasa banget, i got a fake citizens of humanity long time ago, fitnya beda banget, it didn’t feel like $150 jeans, masih enakan pake jeans H&M gue..heheh, untungnya bisa di balikin..=)

iya nih gue juga gak tau kenapa susah nyari jeans. kesatu panjangnya jeans. byk yg kepanjangan. gue gak suka motong jeans. sayang kan. dulu gue punya temen japanese bilang (mrk pada jeans freak gitu and really love quality jeans), kalo punya jeans jgn dipotong/dialtered, krn it loses its originality. somehow trim nya gimana gitu beda di bawah. jadi kalo misalnya sampe dipotong. udah gak original lagi. kalo dijual lagi udah jd trash hehehe gt sih katanya. mereka kertil bgt loh kalo menilai vintage levi’s. kan mahal2 tuh kalo levi’s jaman jebot. i dont know sih kalo yg branded jeans skrg. maybe cuma perhatiin di detail backpocket seperti yg elo bilang gitu.
trus kedua, shape. gue ini agak2 ribet bodynya hiaihaiha. somehow i got curve, tapi paha n leg kecil. trus pinggang ya setengah2 lah, kadang kecil kadang gede heheh…jadi sering bgt kalo nyobain jeans, pinggangnya udah pas tapi di pinggulnya kesempitan, trus yg ada di bawah jadi kegombrongan. or sometimes it worked the other way around.
sedangkan gue tuh sukanya kalo jeans yg pas adalah hug my hip and butt perfectly, tapi bawahnya itu kinda straight, tapi gak menyempit di bawah. gue suka ada flarenya dikit, but not to flared.
hahhahahah ribet yah han?
gue emang susah kalo cari celana. gila makanya gue willing deh pay more to get the right pants/jeans.
tapi yah ada limitnya juga. masa gue bayar ampe jut2 an? hehahah gila aja. tunggu jadi model dulu yah kekekkeke…

Salam kenal.. khusus bw jeans, gue lebih cocok indian rose. Susah sih nemu jeans yg cocok, secara pinggul gue kecil tapi pinggang gede en kaki kurus…

ella: iya kan elo kurus gitu lagii. wah kalo gue pasti jeansnya harus di hemmed la’, makanya kemaren sempet beli celana express yang skinny jeans soalnya express kan ada SHORT nya, soalnya gue takut kalo skinny jeans dihemmed gitu jadi aneh lagi bentuknya. Iya sih kalo bawahnya ada detailingnya ya sayang ya di hemmed, kaya waktu itu gue pernah suka antik jeans juga bawahnya jaitannya unik gitu, tapi pasti harus kepotong juga kan. Kalo ada flare nya dikit itu bootcut la’, lebih bagus daripada flare, pokonya nggak melebar banget gitu lah’, cukupan aja.
